reserve fuel tap blocked?

anyone ever had trouble with the fuel tap blocking up?
just take it off and have a fiddle at it you think?
i went onto reserve today and it wouldn't go again, i flattened the battery trying to start it again
it was a too dark to do anything, i just got a mate to pick me up in his van

Hi

Had problems with my better halfs GPZ500. Water gets into the tank but when you switch on to reserve this gets drawn into the carbs and then it will not run (water sits at the bottom of the tank, where the reserve supply draws its fuel from). Draining the carbs cures it.

Also drain the tank, it works much better than havin to drain the carbs all the time

Hi

Trouble with the GPZ is that it gets water in the tank quite easily and I do not want to faff around draining the tank every couple of weeks.
