They're for my comp and i've found this set. powerful for computer speakers and the bass should be good but i'm worried by the rocky music i play. They've got 2x1inch mylar speakers on each side and though the system's god rave reviews i'm not too sure a couple of 1 inch speakers per channel can accurately reproduce some maiden!

It's a good price and they're powerful 13w per channel, while the sub gets 35w

I've got a mad as a box of frogs hifi upstairs but there's not the room down here anymore and I don't want the comp upstairs.

Here's the link to them: https://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/B000093T8E/ref=pd_ecc_rvi_sc_2/202-1782570-1814238

They're more powerful than all the speakers in it's price range, they look good and the reviews all rave about them but i'm still dubious about these little 1 inch speakers, even though they are quite powerful for their size and they're quoted to go from 150hz.

Any thoughts?

Before any of you ask, the wattages are RMS as there's no point in quoting PMPO or MPO as they don't mean shite!

Cheers,
Adam

Anyone? Confused

I thought they'd be more music lovers than this on BFC!

1200w, so about 70-90w RMS then?
I've got a 300w RMS per channel amp and system to go with it but haven't got the space any more, which is an arse!

The TEAC speakers look OK, and the reviews certainly confirm that.

I got some of these for my brother, and they do sound bloody brilliant. Certainly good enough for Maiden.

I would...but they only go to 700hz. look pretty nifty though!

Any experience with tiny 1 inch speakers? there's two of them per channel so i suppose the total surface area is about the same as the creative ones.

Stuff computer speakers, get yourself an Amplifer.

https://www.richersounds.co.uk/index.php?f=itemlist.php&c=1001

Something like the Yamaha AX396. Then get yourself some proper speakers, i reckon you want to get some floor standers something like the Mordaunt Short MS914's. If you can't afford them then you want something like the Gale 3040. A setup like this will sound better than 'any' pc speakers.

Sorry i just saw your post about space. Smile

erm...due to space maybe?

If I had the space then i've already got a phat amp and system. I used to use it but then my parents got a second computer so there's no space here anymore.

And then I just read the bottom bit of your post - oops!

I've got a good hifi, so i want a small computer setup that won't disappoint. This one's got good reviews but i'm worried about the power of the vocals and rocky stuff I play a lot of the time.

Thats car audio mate, so its not really designed for sound quality, just to be loud, which for a bit of Maiden would probably be OK. I am not into PC speakers as I run my pc into my hifi, however I was quite inpressed with some creative 2.1 THX approved ones my brother bought, a lot louder than they look.

the only 2.1 THX ones Creative do are the MegaWorks THX 2.1 250D and though it quotes 300w RMS i don't quite believe it. that's a heck of a lot for a couple of small satallites and an 8" sub.
And for around a ton - seems like a bargain!

I'll stick with the Teac's though as they're under half the price and if i wanted big sounds I go upstairs to my "proper" hi-fi upstairs.
