I have some tips for anyone whos going into an mot in the near future, I have just done mine and failed so hear are some pointers so you can prepare before. For reference I have an NSR 1998 with 20,000 miles.
Steering bearings, you can tell by lifting the front tyre and feeling for any resistance/grinding.
Front wheel bearings, you can tell by lifting the front wheel and spinning it to hear for any grinding/resistance.
Rear disk warping, caused by not changing pads soon enough, lift back wheel and spip while looking at the disk.
Cracked/hole in exaust, tell by putting hand fully over exaust and revving engine the enguine should then cut out if OK.
Underdampened front suspension, a bit spongey whe pushed maybe just change oil.
Rear monoshock suspension linkages, becoming worn common on monoshocks.
Just a few things you should check guys, and of course all the usuals.
