The line up for the main stage has been announced for the 25th Rock And Blues Custom Show and tickets have now gone on sale.

This means it's time for me once again to ask 'Is anyone planning on joining the Hippys again this year'?

It's at a new location just north of Birmingham so it's a little closers for us soft southerners to get to. As it's the 25th Anniversary do I suspect tickets will sell quite quickly so if you are planning on attending book early Smile

As ever it's the last weekend in July (24th - 27th) and the gates open at midday on the Thursday, details of the lineup can be found at https://www.rockandblues.uk.com/

If you are intending to go you are of course welcome to camp with the Hippys, just meet up with us at some point and say 'Hi', or ignore us completely as we will almost certainly be drunk Very Happy

Will be going again this year, it's the one rally I refuse to work at as it's my 'letting my hair down' one!!! Mr. Green

Hopefully the new site will mean none of that mud-slopping malarky of last year. Shocked

Not massively impressed by the band line up so far, but that isn't the point of it anyway. Still, hope to see some decent tribute bands in the cross pistons. Thumbs Up

I wouldn't hand over your cash yet, particularly now the website says-

"Please also note that there will be no ticket refunds whatsoever unless this show is cancelled by the event organisers One percent Entertainments Group."

So if their licence isn't issued and it can't go ahead they're going to keep everyone's money if they pre-booked, is that even legal?

I think it's fairly obvious that if they don't get the liscence then One Percent will have to cancel it which then means tickets will be refunded.

It'll be a complete shit if it is cancelled though Sad

What a crock. Mad Crime and Disorder, my arse.

I had heard a rumour it was gonna be cancelled, but thought it was just summit my mate had dreamed as I couldn't find confirmation online.

Bugger. At least I haven't got my ticket yet, but let's hope the licensing authority see sense Praying

*Edit* Looks like the licensing committee meeting is next Wednesday...

It looks like we will have to keep a close eye on this one. What's the betting if this is cancelled it won't be long before the Bulldog follows suit?

Scumbags.

Mr Tobin's murder and the resulting pathetic 'violent biker gangs are rife' media coverage gave these bike-haters an 'angle' with which to persecute and marginalise us.

Thumbs Down

There's no way they can justify pulling either based simply on last years tragedy and subsequent events, and claim it's just in the interest of public safety.

Taking the Notting Hill Carnival as an example -

1987- Michael Galvin , a stallholder -stabbed.

1991- Dr. Nicholas Hanscomb , bled to death after being stabbed in the thigh.

2000- Greg Watson, stabbed to death after an argument over food.

2000- Abdul Bhatti, stabbed to death in a racially motivated attack by a group of 40-50 youths.

2004-Lee Surbaran , shot by a gang using a machine pistol for "showing disrespect".

2007- two teenagers were shot just outside the Carnival area.

Now this Carnival is through the streets, amidst families, little old dears and a whole host of other innocent bystanders, public and private property. And theres no talk of banning that. Rolling Eyes

(And before any racist knobhead points out the apparently 'obvious', Fuck off I ain't listening)

Yup, was on radio Cov and Warks on Thursday, objection to bulldog's licence too. As you say, how many other events have incidents where people are murdered, they don't get axed instantly, just admitting they're incapable of keeping control by the looks of it, show's how useless the police really are.

Well, rumours are that it's game over for RBCS 2008 and the recent site update would indicate the rumours are true. Looks like that was a very expensive stunt they pulled last year. Rolling Eyes

https://www.rockandblues.uk.com/

Here's hoping the Bulldog doesn't go the same way. Praying

Yep, fjrat posted a link in the thread in Touring & Explortion.

Organisers pulled the plug last night, before the meeting, to appease the coppers.

Fucking gutted.

The new announcement on their site suggests it may not be all over yet. Am guessing, the approval of the bulldog has given them some stronger points to argue with Derbyshire police. Could be interesting.

Good. Balls to the authorities, stop us pitching tents in a field without bothering anyone? Balls.

Anyways. I like how at the bottom it talked about the potential retaliation for Gerry's murder coming back from Bulldog last year - are any of the lads who've been arrested for that members or prospects for the Outlaws?
