I bought another bike yesterday.
I currently have 3 bikes insured fully comp on a single policy through Carole Nash, this policy is due to expire at the end of June. To add my new bike would mean at the very least an admin charge of £20, and possibly (although probably not) an increase in premium too, so I wasn't going to bother.
It will be all change when the policy is up for renewal anyway as I may have sold 2 of the current 3 by then, so it's probably worth waiting. That would be sensible and stuff.
Which is fair enough, but the new bike is sat there saying "ride me, ride me" and it would be nice to start getting used to it, and the weather isn't bad at the moment............ but I won't ride without insurance, it's something I slate others for and would never knowingly do myself.
In an idle moment this afternoon I just happen to have been on ebike, browsing through their month-by-month policies. and because I am old and female it would appear I could insure it fully comp through them for a month for a whopping (hold yer breath guys)............
..........£17.38 with no voluntary excess! TPFT would be £13.96. Bit of a no-brainer really and I'm not sure why I'm asking for your opinions, anyone out for a ride tomorrow? ____________________ Sod falling in love, I wanna fall in chocolate. |

Sounds like a good option. I always thought the month by month policies were way too expensive. I also thought they'd stopped doing them as it was too easy just to use one to renew your road tax but then drive/ride around uninsured (unless you can't use them to get road tax ).
Anyhow, another option would have been to ask if you actually do own the new bike (paperwork submitted, etc.) as I would have thought your fully comp policy would allow you to ride another's bike third party.
BTW I've come to the conclusion it's not worth having a lot of bikes as you can only ride one at once and a bike just tends to rot unless ridden.
Go and ride and enjoy ____________________ ...and the whirlwind is in the thorn trees, it's hard for thee to kick against the pricks...

The V5 transferring the bike to me was filled out with yesterday's date on and put in an envelope to the DVLA whilst I was still there, and the receipt is in my name so I reckon I do own it. So much so that I made the OH ride it home yesterday rather than risk it myself..........
That was quite funny though. For the first (and hopefully last!) time we were riding his n hers matching bikes.......... ____________________ Sod falling in love, I wanna fall in chocolate. |

Well you have obviously found the answer yourself babs And isn't it a total rip-off that insurance companys give you an admin charge, for inputting a few details on a keyboard and printing them ____________________ latest bike 03 R1 in zee red and black |
