is this a good first bike?

my friend said it would go up to 100mph...which tbh i think is an exageration but someone on here said only 60mph..which i think may be underestimating it a little....

any thoughts?

i definately want a sports bike....well replica sports this is...

thanks

LOL
looks like someone didnt get laid last night. Smile

CBR125, prob up to about 70mph
Depends on your weight and shape.
It is the drag and gearing that slows them down
On a rolling road they probably will do 100mph, but that is without wind resistance

Good bikes, they are a bit thin and small looking, and like i said a bit like marmite, you either like them, or u dont

Have a read of them other threads that were linked helpfully for ya. Smile

Consider the YZF125R
Baby R6, nice bikes, and full size as well (dont look small)

Bike choice is entirely down to you, what one person likes anotehr person wont.
Stick with Honda / Yamaha / Kawasaki / Aprilia / Ducati / Triumph etc etc and you dont really go wrong, just avoid the cheap chinese copies, they are not reliable yet, and are likely to let you down seriously (dangerously) within a couple of years from new

Go to a local dealers and have a look at one in the flesh. Have a sit on it, etc.

I have one, and love it for many reasons, for which i have stated in a few other threads previously, although i do wake up everyday and wish i was on a big bike Very Happy But what 125cc rider doesn't eh?

I personally think it gets too much stick Sad It's just a 125cc...

8.50 full tank, lasts me all week (roughly 200 miles) (compared to a 2 stroke like NSR125 which looks HOT but uses probably double the amount of petrol PLUS 2 stroke engine oil)
Small enough for a short ass like me
looks better than a CG
As it's so "skinny"- filtering is a bit easier

Bad points:
looks like a bicycle with it's big skinny wheels
slow
Pricey if buying new

Just a quick summary of my thoughts

its not exactly "slow"

if u ride a bigger bike it is

but it gets to 50 faster than cars like saxos and if ur learning which is what this bike is designed for then you shouldnt be needing much more.

and the top speed is over the national speed limit
