Hi there, me and the mrs are thinking about a long weekend away to wales or scotland, no camping gear, b'n'b jobs to save on kit to carry. What essentials are there in case theres anything ive overlooked, or any tips for a first time tourer Smile

cheers

Its very easy to take too much. Just take esentials, especially as your 2 up. They lighter the bike is the better, and juggage should be stored as low down as possible. Make sure your bike has been recently serviced and breakdown cover is an esential. Take lightweight rainproofs with you especially if your going to Wales! Book your accommodation ahead. You dont want to be looking for a room at 10pm at night like I did last year in Ireland! Take an adjustable spanner and a screwdriver with interchangeable heads and carry a spare bulb kit and some insulating tape but be careful you can go overboard with tools but if your a member of the AA or similar you should be O.K.

I'm going to be in leathers so was thinking just lightweight rainwear on the off chance, first aid kit, give the bike a good going over before hand, im a member of the AA so thats sorted. Always worth asking for any advice its always a guarantee you'll be out and about and think 'i could really have done with..' sods law lol
