Poor Kid.

BBC
Girl, 3, dies in mini-moto crash
A three-year-old girl was killed when a mini-motorcycle she was a passenger on collided with a pick-up truck.

The crash happened on a footpath in Louth, Lincolnshire, on Monday afternoon as the Ford Ranger truck left a garage access road.

Lincolnshire police said it was believed the mini-motorcycle was being driven on the footpath of Monks Dyke Road at the time of the collision.

A man has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.

A police spokesman said: "It would appear that the mini-motorcycle has been travelling along the footpath and has collided with the vehicle, which at the time was emerging from a garage access road between two houses.

"The three-year-old girl was a passenger on the mini-motorcycle.

"Investigations at the minute are proceeding but are very much in their infancy."

I can only concur, to take a three year old child on any type of motorcycle is inexplicably stupid.

Another senseless tragedy where everyone suffers.

I have just had to tell a couple of lads that I will not repair their mini-moto. I refuse to touch the things, not because I do not like the kids, but because I would be an accessory to any crime they commit. Same thing this time every year, they are the third lot I have had to send away. First thing I ask them is what helmet they wear, the answer is always " You don't need to wear a helmet on a moto".

What a waste of a life.....

Shame it wasn't the person in control Rolling Eyes of it thats not dead....

Neve quite got the appeal of these things, as most owners don't have the space to run them off the road on private land, and think its OK to run on roads/footpaths. With scant reguard for anyone's safety.

They are terrible things and parents should take more responsibility in letting their child have one. Surely they know if they've enough space to use the thing in the garden.

Also the end caption about the incident-

Kinda sick joke in someway that, but guess no one noticed.

mini motos are fucking lethal in the wrong hands - people think they are toys when they clearly aren't.

tragic waste of life. Sad

They are fine if used properly at organised events.

They can bite even when used properly though, my brother used to race them until he compound fractured his leg in an accident. Sick

I've got a couple, but have the space on the drive and in the garden to make use of them. Taking them on the public highway is just plain stupid.

Terrible shame.
Minimotos are great fun in the right conditions, a group of us had a proper giggle on them around a little go-kart track in Northampton a few years ago - i still chortle when i think about it....especially when one of the lads tried to hoist a wheelie and ended up faceplanting instead!
However, the public road & footpaths is not the place for them. I nearly wiped out 2 young lads the other day - i was driving my car and they emerged from an alleyway and went straight across the road in front of me without looking. It was only because the alleyway is next to my house and so i was slowing down to pull onto my drive that prevented them from being squished.

Call me stupid but it dosent seem to clear to me, is it the rider who has been arrested or the person reversing the truck out?

I really do hope it was the rider and not the latter

Such a waste of life too

I hate them things too. Driving to work one day I saw two kids on them belting along the pavements in their uniforms on their way to school!! Again, no regard for all the other kids on the pavements, cars on the road or general rush hour school/work traffic!!

I had to call the police for that one, for their own safety! Last thing I want is a 9 year old under my wheels! I do blame parents for being irresponsible enough for buying them and leaving the kids with access to them.

Tragic loss of life. Poor girl

Seems like the tar brush has arose.
there not terrible machines, there good when used for good clean fun.
Have had 3 myself, used to take it to a local field with a mate and his, we never did anything that got us a criminal record, if we got told to move on we did.
Its not always about the parents buying them either, i bought one of mine, although carrying and passengers on a mini moto is irrisponsible as they arnt the move stable with one person on them. I feel sorry especially for the truck driver, as it wasnt his fault yet hes going to be scared by seeing near enough a baby kid going into him. My 2p.

This is nothing there is this 50mph bit of dual carriageway nearby and I've seen a woman carry her baby on the mini moto at the same time, cars buzz by at 60 on this road and it doesn't seem to faze them at all.

that gives a new dimension to stupidity! I saw two kids in stafford on one. Kid B was sitting on the shoulders of kid A. Kid B was on his phone (presumably to kid C).

Little cunts round here riding them around the pavements and down the roads, wrong way up a one way street etc. They must be no more older than 11 and have no helmets or whatever. I called the police on em numerous times cos it's fucking dangerous and they never turn up. Rolling Eyes
