Should I go out and do the following to my bike?
- Get a Fuel exhaust, and custom link pipe made up. Lady thought £170 for the stainless steel one (forget to ask about carbon one) she said she was over estimating to be on the safe side.
- K&n air filter
- With the above fitted, carbs setup nicely on a dyno while making sure its 33bhp (currently 28.2bhp with restriction kit)
Now I can only justify getting the exhaust because it will look good and sound good. My dad says it wont sound any better and has a really annoying (but sometime useful) habit of being to talk me out of spending money on anything he deems un-needed. My current is fine, not scratched or anything, just a normal bog standard exhaust.
The k&n filter will save me having to replace the honda one every 8,000 miles or something silly. Would like to get those air filters which mount on the carbs themselves, but I dunno if you can get them for a hornet 600 (250 air filter same as 600).
Oh decisions. ____________________ Past: Honda x8rs, Honda City fly, Honda Hornet 250, Honda VFR750, Yamaha xt600e.

Get the can, forget the K&N and take the restrictors out.
Best of both worlds, more power, sounds better and waste less money ____________________ '99 Hornet 600 , VFR 400 NC30 '92 , Kasawamasaki GT 550 , '98 Hornet 600

Hold on this is the Hornet 250 right? , erm no? , you'll get bigger power gains £ for £ if you get another bike.
Infact thining about it in my crazy little way you can get a 900cc fireblade engine for £200 and since the Hornet doesn't have any side spars or side cradles you can probably shoe horn in a blade engine,
My own CBR600 'gains' aren't exactly worth it either but these costs were incidental to repairing the CBR if its downpipes were not damaged I'd have not bothered with the 5-10bhp gain I got. ____________________ Spain 2008France 2007Big one 2009 We all die. My ex always wanted sex on the bike (250 singles ftw) until I told her only if I can bring it inside.
Cheers
