Wouldn't mind having a go. There are some sites near to me that I would love to take a look around.

Always been a keen explorer! Those 'urbex' types take it far too seriously though lol I remember on one of the forums I was slagged because I wasn't wearing the right gear!!

North Wales is an absolute goldmine of places to explorer, we have - tunnels, caves, quarries, abandoned hospitals, marooned ships etc!

I've always been tempted to do it too, always wanted to the Boddies brewery but its gone now!

I was looking on a site a few months ago about a water tower near me, looked in intriguing!

I've done a bit, not much really - I've been concentrating on logging all the ROC posts lately.

28 days later was shut down a couple of months ago, I wonder when they brought it back up.

theres thousands of sites. just depends whats suitable near you. so join a forum and see whats going on local

Done it a couple of times, an old cold war bunker and an abandoned lunatic asylum

Was ace, we had to run from this pillbox though as we were spotted (5 of us lauching over this fence, full pelt

The asylum was best, huge and really eerie. Effects of past vandalism can spoil it, but some parts were awesome, like summit out of resident evil (first game). By that I mean ivy growing over walls, not zombies and killer dogs.

I have some pics at home, will upload them tonight.

(Careful though, don't go alone as some of the floors are rotten through - pretty dangerous)

I tried to sign up to 28DL yesterday and noticed registration was disabled. It's a shame.

Anyway, I'm thinking of doing the old Infirmary round my way. It's been done before but I'd love to get in there myself.

(Oh, and I had no idea it was in the Sun! I can assure you I do not read it )

I did something similar a couple of years ago.

Started as a drunk agreement during an evening of alcohol. The next thing I knew was that I was being picked up at 6 the next morning, driven to Mid Wales and watching a friend pick the lock of the smallest gate I'd ever seen in the middle of a partially hidden rock face and telling me to crawl through it - I crawled for 3/4 of an hour 'til I could actually kneel with my head hitting a stony ceiling with only a tiny torch for illumination and no safety equipment.

After about three hours of scraped elbows, knees and heads we emerged into an absolutely fantastic and extremely large (from what the torches could make out) cavernous area, sat down had a drink of water and made the tortuous journey back - I've never been so relieved to see daylight in my life.

Only male bravado made me go through that gate - I'd never do it again.
