Next weekend I've got to ride 85 mile in one go (including a fuel stop) in the morning and then if I can't find anywhere to stay I will have to ride back home, then go back again the next morning and come home on Sunday night. A possible 340 miles in 2 days on a DT125.

Is there anything I need to check. Had new chain and sprockets less that 150 miles ago and was adjusted and lubed today. New head gasket 150 miles ago. Put a new back tyre on today. New gearbox oil probably less than 400 mile ago. Will make sure the engine oil is topped up.

What's the best speed to ride at (no motorways as my mates still on L's). At 70 the revs are a 9000rpm, only 500rpm off redline so I'm thinking 60-65?

Anything else I should check/change? I've probably done over 100 mile in a day but always close to home so not so bad if I break down.

Make it 55-60 (but I'm sympathetic), keep an eye on all your levels and you'll be ok! Thumbs Up Very Happy

Take some chain lube with you. I used to find mine would be running almost dry after about 90 miles, especially in the wet.

What does everyone do that? its not a willy waving competition.Confused

He is just asking some questions. As been said before, just keep check of all your levels( perhaps carry a few fuses just in case) you should be fine!

Ride at a speed you feel comfortable with for the road conditions. You should not need anything special for that length of trip even on a 125.
I would fuel up before you set off, and then just stop for maybe a break on route, but that will depend on how you feel.

Thanks to my mates RS seizing it looks like I may be following a scooter. That will keep my speed down lol.

Once did about 130 on my DNA because I thought we were going to Telford but ended up in Whitchurch
