Yeah that was the first proper lane we had done when you saw us - the bikes were pretty dirty by the time we finished as we went from there up Beggars Lane (the chalk hill) to Bocketts Farm and then back to the Plough again then back to Newlands.

The puddles were much smaller today compared to last Monday in the pissing rain, should have taken a boat out on that day Laughing

Catch you out and about soon Thumbs Up Or more likely you'd catch me Wink

Respect to you for doing it on SM tyres! My comment was "oh dear, I don't have an excuse now" Smile.

I was having some trouble on my trail-sized road tyres as it was!.. Though turned out that most of it wasn't a big problem apart from the particularly mush mud - it seemed that the front would get knocked to one side on ruts, stontes etc... but having no real grip at all I'd end up sliding all over the shop as it got knocked too and fro.
Any tips? Smile
Probably just need to have some confidence, get my weight back and gas it!.. but finding it hard to do that when I've got hardly any control as it is.

hey mate yeah just lean back and gas it some, it seems weird at first but trust me you will slide only a bit Wink i love that lane, sand sucks balls but rest is ok, like the whoops before the sandy bit too Laughing the looks we get sumtimes on the road tyres off enduro boys is well funny, a few weeks back we were on coldharbour and i went hacking past about 3 people on xr/crm's on my road wheels. tis ok if you feel safe, lad on the drz with us today first time offroading and was on a drz supermoto, respect as he done ok and didnt crash. Cool was you the fella on the spanking 690 Razz

Yep 690 is mine; decent covering of mud I just cleaned off Very Happy.

My tyres were actually ok on the sandy bits when we went through a second time and I'd got a bit more relaxed, it was just the squelchier mud that I was having problems with.

The opposite, but sometime I want to try and fit some knobblies on my ZX9 and go off roading just to annoy all those getting XT660s or whatever 'cos they look all 'off roady' Smile. Saying that, I don't care about it that much really, so might have to try it anyway if I do stick some wide bars on it.
