Well that's the last time I post a picture of my bike on here! The following day I was knocked off by a lorry. I must have been doing all of 5 / 10 mph at the time but I have a broken bone in my hand and the white / red - yellow ratio of my upper body is well out of kilter.

Now to the tricky bit, my bike is a 2005 CBR 600 F with 8250 miles on the clock. It had crash bungs which meant the panels are not as scratched as they would be but still scratched enough. Both wing mirrors came off and there is a thin crack down the left side of the front fairing. There is a small dent in the exhaust and the rear brake pedal is bent too.

Otherwise, the bike seems fine. It didn't hit anything head on, just slid for a few metres. I was filtering and was pushed off to the right by the lorry.

The bike cost be £4,500 new from a Honda main dealer. I insured it TPFT as fully comp would have been £2,500. I did not get the plates of the lorry that hit me.

I've decided to sell the bike. I just want to get back as much money as possible. What are my options?

James.

Police came, ambulance came. Police said it was unlikely they would find registration of lorry even with CCTV.

Welcome to central London.

I was so shocked at a) being knocked off and b) the sight of my hand that it was the last thing on my mind at the time.

Thankfullly the guy on the bike behind me did stop. He got my bike off the road while I got myself together.
He was very kind and did his best to calm me down. The ambulance staff and doctors at Guy's hospital were incredible.

To be honest, I've never been so scared in all my life. Was convinced I was going to be crushed under an oncoming vehicle and then when I wasn't was convinved I was going to lose my hand (I'm saying that with a straight face). It still looks like something out of a Marilyn Manson video, although thankfully, touch wood, it will be fine.

James.

repair it THEN sell it

lets see panels you can get mint ones for £30 each side on ebay I have 2 silver mint ones left ,

nose you can get welded and painted for £80 (Alan)

Mirrors you can get for £36 each for OEM , or you can get pattern which look identical but are stiffer for £12 each.

Brake pedal £30 for a complete brake pedal assembly hence £10 for just the pedal. (its just a circlip and a bolt holding it in anyway)

Exhaust? , CBR600F exhausts are ten a penny , you can have my race can for £40, or the Honda original for £15,

<£200 repair , at which you'll probably get £3990 back for the CBR.

CBR parts are very common.
