There's quite a few come out lately (or on the way out) and I thought I may enlighten you lot.

Soil - Redefine: Not a well known band over here but bloody good. This is quite similar to their previous outing, Scars, but a bit softer and more melodic. Thumbs Up

Probot - Probot: An odd one this. Its Dave Grohl's (Nirvana, Foo Fighters) new project and includes various vocalists on each track. As can be expected this leads to an odd album - its got more of a compilation feel to it than a normal album feel.
Sweet Dreams (w/King Diamond of Mercyful Fate) is a slow while Centuries of Sin (w/ Cronos of Venom) is pure thrash. Then we have the pure metal that is Shake Your Blood, with our very own Lemmy.

On the whole, a very good metal album although not to everybody's taste.

Lost Prophets - Start Something: I've not heard their previous album, apart from the 2 singles (Fake Sound of Progress and Shinobi Vs Dragon Ninja) but after hearing Burn, Burn off this new album decided to give it a try. And I'm glad I did. Its certainly not that heavy, and I didn't like the new single, Last Train Home, at first cos its a bit a samey commercial track but its grown on me. Another Thumbs Up

Fear Factory - Archetype: I'm not a big fan of FF, they're a bit too aggressive-shouty for me but this album is a refreshing change. Its more melodic than previous albums yet still has the hard edge that FF are known for. Another one to get.

I'm on the look out for Monster Magnets new album as well, so if I manage to get it I'll let you know what its like.

Yeah i saw one of their tracks on MTV2, cant remember the name of the song but it had the guy from motorhead singing in it, and it wasn't even the Ace of spades Razz, I thought it was dave rumming.
Sounded ok.

Is this out yet? I've been wanting to hear it. Apparently the drumming is meant to be brilliant on it. I really like Demanufacture but I doubt it'll even come close to that.

I generally listen to extreme metal bands. Mostly Blackmetal. Anyone else here into anything like that?

Hi
I have done a little bit, but its not really my cup of tea, too mental and fast. I do occasionally listen to Craddle of filth, slayer (ok slayers not that hardcore but it is for me) and stuff like that, depends what mood im in, nothing like a good black/death metal song for a moshpit Very Happy.

I saw Monster Magnet at 'The Big Day Out' a few years back and they set fire to the stage. Also Mercyful Fate were playing and they really put on a show (eventhough it lasted only 1 hour).

Luke, I may have been/be a Silverchair, but please come out of your fantasy land and realise that there is nothing really creative about any of those two albums. Seriously, it's been proven that most of the songs have stolen riffs from Led Zeppelin songs.

I was there! That seems like forever ago now. I remember Mercyful fate being on first and it was way too hot. I was totally knackered from the bus trip down from Scotland. I was there to see MetallicA mostly. Sepultura were amazing aswell! I thought I was going to die in the crowd when they played.

Aha, I was there! It was the year that Metallica headlined with their never ending encore at Milton Keynes Bowl. That was a very good year, though that's probably because I was completely off my troter. Laughing Funnily enough it was also the year when my eyes layed upon my ex for the first time. We happened to be queueing to get into the venue together. I remember thinking he was rather good looking, but never said a word. Thing is I met him again about a year and half later at the Garage in Highbury and didn't realise it was him til some time later. I find it kind of amusing.

Small world ay susi/ProXimaCore. Great day but I looked like a lobster for a week after (very hot day)! At that time I only went for Metallica, and didn't know some of the other bands, but mostly they all rocked. I had to drag a lass I was with out of the crowd when Metallica came on because she was getting crushed! Mad time. Anyone remember all of the dumped booze at the front gates because of the stricked 'no outside drink' rule? Or the bottle shower before Marylin Manson came on, very late?

I remember getting touched up by some random perve whilst being in between the shower of bottles waiting for Marilyn Manson. I also remember throwing myself at this perverted man to wack him a few and being sandwiched between my two male friends because they didn't want me to get hurt as this man was twice my size.

I seriously don't know what's wrong with men in crowds, but it seems as if I'm always wearing a note on my back that says "touch me up please".

I might have to invest, their first album was good, I recommend it, a bit like a british incubus.

I really should have put a "Razz" after that comment, yeah i know they nicked loads of stuff off zepp, nirvana and pearl jam. Still sounds good, you can tell diorama and neon ball room was more their own stuff, neons good, diaorama is just... well, bleh.

Luke

/me bops to nirvana Very Happy

Ok Susi, ProXimaCore, McJamweasel, who showed Maryiln "what they thought of him" after he got hit with a bottle? One of the funniest things I have ever seen. Very Happy

I thought that was damn funny. I wasn't too impressed with his show and I couldn't wait any longer for MetallicA. So it suited me fine that he took a tantrum and stopped early.

I think I screamed out a "Yes!" when it rebounded off of his head and then cracked into hysterics with my friend.

It was worth the whole days wait. Very Happy Laughing

Bikes and metallica do go together well.

St.anger's ok, but ...justice rules it's a very angry and intense cd.

I like Pantera. Not my favourite but I've got their albums and I used to listen to them alot when I was just getting into metal years ago. Their last album was a bit Thumbs Down though. 'Cowboy's from hell' is the best one. Smile
