Why would you want to change the IMEI of your handset? Question
Unless it was stolen of course Evil or Very Mad

No, no..i dont dabble in stolen phones. A mate of mine found it on his way home. Seein as changing the IMEI number is more trouble than its worth, the phone is on its way to Thailand.

Why don't you hand it in, rather than sending it to thailand or something.

It could have stolen and then dumped. Oh, and changing the IMEI is illegal, so you won't find any easy to use windows "click here to change it" software out there, but it can be done.

I didnt hand it in because it wasnt mine. The lad who found it was using it till it was blocked. If there daft enough to lose it their daft then its their touch luck. When i were pissed an left mine in a taxi i didnt see that again. Goes around comes around.

Even if i did hand the phone in, an no owner came forward. There not goin to unlock it for me. Even if i track down the owner they will have a new one by now and the phone still wont be worth the trouble to get unblocked. In short, why should i bother goin to all that trouble cause someone lost THEIR phone.

I have been through all the IMEI stuff with Mikeybabes he told me the diffculties as well as the legalities so i thought the best thing for it. Give it my brother.

Well next time you drop something don't expect for it to be handed in. Karma

I managed to drop my wallet recently, I got home, and there was an message on my answer phone from someone who had found it. This was found in a Tecsos and train station carpark and they didn't even take any of the cash out of it.

Just hand it in imo.

If you find something expensive like a mobile phone you should look for something along the lines of "Home" on the address book and give it a call, failing that, hand it in!

When I lost my phone in a club type place, the mate I was with got a call - it was someone who had found my phone calling to say they had it. They got a fiver out of it, I got my phone back, everyone's happy!

When i got the phone it was already blocked an the sim card had been snapped up. So even if i wanted to play good samaritan i couldnt.

I dont think we will see eye to eye on this one carvell so i am agreeing to disagree. If i ever lose my phone i hope someone like you finds it. But you better not lose yours to someone like me.
