this is my 1st road bike and got my test on the 19th of june and cant wait but come across this bike with only 9700 miles on it and full mot/tax/service history and had to snatch it up at a great price only £2500.it really is a mint bike with only the odd mark wher he caught his boot on it ect.

nice bike.nice and clean.£2500 sounds reasonable too.
I've heard that some of those bikes have had gearbox problems though after a certain mileage. might be worth reading up on just in case?

good luck with your test and just take it easy on that R6.

yeh i know its a big step getting a r6 for 1st bike but it was a good deal and ill find my limit and progress with it.my mates have told me not to try and keep up they will wait for me later on up the road.

i read up on the gear box problems where they jump out of gear and my step dad checked it something to do with a recall and they stamped the frame/engine and he said it was all fine.

cheers for your comments

Why? It will only go as fast as his right hand wants it to.

Are the marks on the bike from boots just rubber? Probably get it off with some WD40/Brake Cleaner/Instant Bike Shine.

Which you will often find wants to pin the throttle 24/7 where as a grown bloke with alot of road time will know how to control it, also the old R6's are more brutal lower down the revs.

Very nice,

I still want to own one - But from previous owners, its not recomended for a newb rider.
My 636 is pretty good and for riding over 2 years has enough for me, but im still playing with the idea to sell and get an R6 or even R1 Drooling
Enjoy Thumbs Up Mr. Green

why would i do that? i dont wanna die and whats the grown man thing got to do with it? when i was on my motorcross bikes racing i think thats called control. i think you will find i want to ride well not just see how fast i can go Confused . a way i see it is i could die on a 125 and in that case i with the lack of power i would be trying to go for it alot more. with this i can take my time and progress with experiance.

We all say that in the beggining, then we lose the dicipline and go for broke. Power is very addictive, using it and controlling it becomes a thrill, we've all done it an anyone that says otherwise is either very dull or lieing.
You'll see.

If all these newbs getting 600's die or crash, insurance would be far more than it is.

A sports 6 is no more dangerous than any other bike, if you haven't got enough sence to respect the performance of the machine Darwin wins.

Do you follow me round this forum disagreeing with every post i type? lol, you need to get out more, anyway, its all well an good sayin repsect it but alot of bikers enjoy riding a bike for the thrill of speed, and freedom, do you not like a really good hoon through some twisties? i know i love a good burst of speed every now an again.
Sorry if my opinion killed around of your kittens chris, but time is a great healer.

Well i personally wouldn't recommend a r6 to a learner as its not the easiest bike to ride and really its is just built for going fast on. I don't know how much experience you have riding bikes but just take it easy. Im sure you find it more than enough power for a while Laughing
Nice bike though very nice Thumbs Up

I got all that crap too mate, everyone saying i'm crazy for buying a 600 as my first bike, mainly it's an age thing to most common people, for some reason they expect you to go out and ride like a nutter whereas the bloke next door who's having a mid life crisis and earns 30k in I.T will be fine because he was a wife and kids to worry about.

main thing is make sure you get good gear, i've spent 200 quid on boots and 400 quid on some leathers, of course you don't have to spend that much i'm just a tart and want to look cool. Laughing

good luck anyway, got my test soon ( on the 25th)

So So true, if your young or even fairly young getting a 600 as a first bike returns these responses '' YOUR GONNA DIE'' however the 30-40yr old mid life crisis man who goes out and buys a 1098 is ok, because he's old, so fantastically not true they have no idea how to ride just jump on the biggest thing they can and quite frankly out of the blokes ive met have no more common sense than a 20 year old, ffs there buying the bikes for speed! they hoon just as much as anyone else, they just dont know how to ride - Rant Over

So in conclusion, go for it take it easy take time to learn your ride and enjoy every minute mate, lovely bike by the way Very Happy
