Court case on the 29th should I be worried?

Got a call from my mum the other day, saying I have to goto court on the 29th of March for non payment of rd tax.

The bike was stolen two years ago and my insurance company took all the documentation for the bike!

I have all the letters from the police and insurance confirming the theft, if I showed these to the courts and tell them I never received and other mail from the DVLA as I no longer live at the address the bike was in can they fine me?

I can't see why those letters won't get you off the hook.

Personally I wouldn't pay that tax /fine whatever regardless, if my bike was stolen and police notified etc then I am sure as hell not paying road tax for it!

You'll be fine - no need to worry at all. As long as you still have the paperwork it will make it even easier.

You present the evidence and it should just be thrown straight out.

You're going down for a long, long time. They've been busting software pirates and makers of dirty dirty pornography and giving them court summons for less serious offences then changing the charge once you're there. They had problems with people leave the country.

I'd get a flight straight to South America while you still can. They'll probably have your photo up in the airports soon, Robby might be able to slip you a hint or two for getting through.
