Sorry if I embarrassed you, but gunning past me in traffic and trying to look macho in your one piece race rep leathers will result in you getting shown how to ride. As you saw today when a teenager on an '80s bike with a third of the power you have out handled you down the A449 twisties.

For future reference, if you must gun it past me, please dont slow me down when you get to the first corner.

Cheers
John

Spot on, I think he got confused with the number 46 sticker on his Rossi lid, its a race number not a top speed through corners!

tbh, I think he was more jealous that I was comfortable in my 3/4 length camo shorts with a bit of wind keeping me cool.

Full leathers in this weather is not nice, I did it last year and must have sweat a stone off in a week. Laughing

Cheers

To be fair though, falling off in shorts probably won't be that nice! I prefer sweating!

At the risk of sounding like an arrogant idiot. I don't plan on crashing, and id rather be comfortable enough to concentrate on what im doing, instead of thinking 'damn im sweaty, i hope my leathers don't shrink'.

I rode home from Hendon in my gym kit today, because I couldn't bear the thought of changing into anything even slightly protective in the city heat. It certainly focuses your mind on what's going on around you!

Im liking baiting the boy racers on my way home on my scooter.

Traffic light grand prix, I'm away faster, and then i just arrive at slightly above legal speed limit. They then catch me up and are by then doing a bit too much over, as they have been trying to keep up and aren't deterred by the speed limit. I guess they think they have won as they go past, but its only cos i wont go above a certain speed.

I actually had one go through a red light the other day when i was pulling up alongside at

Its a 180 2 stroke that weighs 100kg, so it will do 0-60 in 5secs, so they'd need an m3 rather than a 206 to keep up.

I actually had one pull away through a red light the other day when i was pulling up alongside at a traffic lights. I wasnt sure if he was determined not to let me get in front, or if he thought me moving past to the side of him meant the lights had changed although it was still on red.

Having said that, although im owning the scooter ownage, I did see some bad riding by a guy on a maxi scoot (something like a 500 4 stroke) overtake 3 cars on a 30 road when on the other side of the road, a bus had stopped and a car was about to overtake it.

He just got through the gap and fortunately the oncoming car had seen him so didnt proceed with his overtake even though he had got there first.

I like a bit of haste, but like to think I'm not too silly about it.

Traffic on my way home today was murder. It would have been a nightmare in a car. Crawling traffic in 30 and 40 zones.

I had a VFR400 (NC21) cut me up on the exit of a roundabout a few years back, another Rossi lid too, wonder if it was the same one. I sat alongside him on the dual carriageway, bolt upright, until he was maxxed out with his chin on the tank and then I buggered off Rolling Eyes

Cheers

TBH, i don't think most people 'plan on crashing' - apart from stuntmen.

i do win, i leave them behind, and then just dont go to silly speeds, it still takes them a few seconds to catch up

i dont plan to loose my license a second time just so he cant get past me

No one wants to nod at me any more, probably due to me riding wearing a bomber jacket, no gloves, a knackered old lid with no visor, 3/4 length shorts and a pair of para boots.

There jealous of my comfort Laughing

John, was that the A449 north or south of Worcester?

And I think that helmet belongs to the HG Cheltenham manager, was it an AGV-Pro (the new one)? Coz he let me try it on last week.

Colin you're not still racing on the Birmingham New Road are ya? Wink

Just north of worcester mate, in the section of twisties where all the kids have died in recent years from blasting cars around there at stupid speeds, I wish he had followed me through porters mill, that would have been fun.

Cheers
