Hey folks,

Have finally decided to take the plunge and get my bike repainted in race colours, decided to go for Repsol Honda scheme. Only thing is I would like to keep my original panels the way they are for re-sale. Does anyone know of somewhere that I can get hold of a new set of fairings for the bike, doesnt have to be genuine honda, and how much it would cost.

Also does anyone have any experience of a good place to get it sprayed? And how much that would cost as well, or should I do it myself?

Many thanks,
Couger

your looking at getting on towards a grand for a good job. a new genuine faring is about 400 quid, an aftermarket one is about 200 and made of fiberglass not plastic, but aftermarkets fairings lower the resale value and look tacky, i had one on my NS and it put off a buyer.

a paint job i believe is 400 quid ish, and dont even think about doing it yourself unless your a dab hand with a spray can, i had enough trouble doing my fuel tank in plain black.

alos look at just getting a decent stick kit and putting that over the top of your existing panels, then to take it off when u sell the bike peel it off gently rubbing a 50/50 water vinegar mix into the seam.

Since you're already thinking about re-selling the bike, why do you want to splash out on a new paintjob?...

...I reckon that you should keep the money, and use it when you trade in your NSR for that RVF Razz

Just my opinion though...

Cough, fairings...Dont talk to me about fairings Sad

I had mine done, bought a fibreglass one for about £130 ish, then the re-spray was about £200, but that was Beneton colours - five and they had to mix them up - made it more expensive WAS a really nice job, until the bike decided to kiss the dirt, and a curb, and a roadsign, and the bank, and a stream.......

Cheers for the advice folks,

I have to say Tin, im not thinking about selling up yet, just thinking ahead for the distant day that I pass my test. But assuming I did go for trade in, how much would I get off the price for an RVF say? just interested you see Wink

Idea came because I would prefer to keep the NSR when I move up to the RVF/CBR etc as a project bike, hence the interest in a respray.

Cheers,
Couger
