Well my insurance is up again. Sad Thing is, I'm trying to sell my bike and I don't really want to get a new policy as I'm sure I will get shafted if I cancel it after 3 or 4 weeks or whatever.

Anyone ever heard of insurance companies that will insure a bike for a month?

I saw a few that do 3 month policies but thats all.

Make sure you ask about getting refund. On my cb I had a years policy and cancelled after 4 months. I got a decent bit of money back. Obviously not quite 8/12 of the money back but about 50/55%.

It's all good atm though. It seems like common practice in SA that you pay for a month at a time Neutral

I didn't think anyone would do one months insurance, but you've got to ask Confused

So do you think that if i paid the insurance in 12 monthly installments and I cancelled it after 1 month, I wouldn't have to make anymore payments. It sounds too easy too me. I'm thinking that maybe I would be contracted to pay more. Small print and all that. I would phone and ask, but somehow I don't think they will volunteer the info.

Thats wrong...... I got my GPZ400R insured for 1 day, the day I went to see it before I purchased it and ride it home.

Why did I do this, I did it so I could take it on a test ride. The cost was just £15.00 for the day (TPFT).

Anyway, I purchased the the bike and the next day I informed the insurance company that I now had the bike and asked them to place it on my policy that I had with my Honda NS125 for the rest of the year (this did cost me a small amount, about £65 ish I think for 9 months).

Anyway, the point of this post / info is to say yes, you can get one months insurance, you will just have to phone around and ask, cos if one can do it for one day, then they must be able to do it for one month or whatever.

I signed up for insurance with norwich union a while ago for my car when I had it. I was trying to sell the car at the same time though. Took about 2 months till I did sell it but when I phoned to cancel the insurance 2 months into it, I wasn't charged any amount of money. They just cancelled it and never said anything.
