Been getting quotes on a 636 B1H.

I got a nice quote of £2622.40 FC Neutral

Put it down to TPFT and it came out as £7750.32.

WTF?

I'm getting pissed off with this, phoned about 3 insurance companies so far going through details each time and all are above 2k.

A year ago I was paying £580 on a VFR400?

Because of the time of year all the insurance companies pump their prices to catch the FWB's. Unfortunetly its much a case of supply and demand. They can charge near enough whatever they want.

They'll be different underwriters who will be willing to take different risks.

YOU ONLY NEED TWO TOOLS IN LIFE - WD-40 AND DUCT TAPE. IF IT DOESN'T MOVE AND SHOULD, USE THE WD-40. IF IT SHOULDN'T MOVE AND DOES, USE THE DUCT TAPE.

try confused.com and gocompare.com

600's are cheaper to insure than 400's for younger people for some reason. I was in a bike shop and the ownder was talking to me about how lots of 400's are imports and they don't want to take the risk etc.

An nc30 and an r6 are a bit different!

On average I think they are. I got quotes and they were cheaper for a 600 or 650 than a 400.

i was trying with vfr400's and sv650, cbr600

I beg to differ, see my post above about my quote on a VFR400 NC30.

Haven't tried anymore haggling today, sort it out Luke! Very Happy

Confused.com

£1146 FC

Excess £1150

Gocompare.com

£1161.26 FC

Excess £850

Both of the best quotes came from Motorcycle Direct.

Still seems a bit steep, or am I being a bit hopeful?

£2,061.37

A company just rang me up to see if they could do a better quote.

The FC was 2k so went up Confused

But TPFT, is......£347.60 Shocked

With only a £250 Excess.

Cheap as fook. Still prefer FC if I can get it to a financially acceptable offer.

To be honest, I have absolutely no idea mate.

I've compared my quotes to other people with accidents etc and I'm still coming out higher.

Bike will be garaged/1 NCB/OKish area/No accidents/No convictions/I have my own car with 1 NCB (seems to count for something these days). The only thing going against me is I'm 19 trying to insure a newish bike, but then lots of people do it Confused

That TPFT really has tempted me ALOT. I really wanted FC but unless I can reduce it it's far more than I'm willing to pay those money grabbing bastards. Middle Finger

Luke, I have tried Express Insurance, they have done me the best FC quote to date, they dropped the online quote of £2600 down to £1395.

MattHirst, I'll have a go at that now.

I helped a guy broke down on one of those last week on Ebbsfleet roundabout. He had "total electric failiure".

Fancy that happening to a ducati Very Happy
