Death while not obeying the law on public roads?

However, it's just another example of how bikers can be complete tits, and then bikers complain when others treat them as complete tits and are surprised when the powers that be want to clamp down on people riding bikes

The mess resembled a gixer, standard blue and white,didn't have a close look, kept my distance.

There was a sad vibe around the place and then the landlady asked us to leave as the police had asked them to close the pub.

Only descent thing to do realy.

Would've been there at the time but i was late leaving the house after fitting a new tyre. Left for a late bimble and quick pint at about 9pm. The roads were closed off and the police were diverting traffic down the rabbit runs.

Gutted to hear about any biker getting killed. And reading about what actually happened on the forum drives the reality home of what happened as now I can actually picture it happening (which aint so great).

For those of you who don't know stormy petrel is a bike meet at Tern Hill in Shropshire and on a good night there you can get several hundred bikes over the course of an evening.

Most people tend to gather on the pub car park. There tends to be the odd person doing rolling burnouts, wheelies, stoppies directly outside the pub. People on both sides of the road watching the fun and games.

Trouble is, its a busy rd and the majority of motorists seem a little less amused by it all. Only takes something like this for the powers that be to close something like this down. Lets hope they dont and we can carry on enjoying what little freedoms we have left.

I would say the guy on the bike is at fault
You dont need a licence to walk around the place, we pass our test and get our papers to show we are compitent and able enough to spot hazards like this*, And if the guy hadnt been on one wheel the tank slapper wouldnt have happend and he was probably speeding aswell. Also doing all of this when something is clearly coming the other way. and if he wasnt able to see the oncoming trafic then thats even worse as there must have been a corner.

Its the bikers fault enitrely for putting himself in that position, but I wouldnt say he deserved to die, unfortunatley you dont generally get a 2nd chance on a bike when something like this happens, this guy didnt live to think 'jeez that was close', we all just have to look at what others have done and learn form their mistakes, Its too late for this chap but maybe some people on here may think twise before trying this kind of thing on a busy road.
and as allways with stunts like this. If it does go wrong you may never get annother try at it.

(* additionally its not against the law to step out into trafic, unless its a motorway, Trafic must allways give way to pedestrians. I strongley support a law simmaler to US law that crossing an A road other then at a crossing is illegal. Maybe there would be less accidents wrongley attriubted to the dirver when it was the pedestrian being a retard)
