busted the bike this morning on the way to work. had a collision with a deer (not a good move) split the fooker in half that will teach him for hurting my baby. How the hell i kept the bike up i have no idea, but done my ankle in so pretty lucky. so if anyone know where to get a cheap fairing, rad, and ram air intake thingy then i would be interested

Dont think your allowed to do that, I believe while its not illegal to run over it, but it is illegal for you to take it, however the next person to find it can take it as road kill.

Might wanna get yourself a copy of this

Also if the animal is tagged you should report it to the police, the owner of the animal is responsible for making sure it is penned in and you could well have a claim on his insurance.

Cool Smile

Did you stop or anything after you obliterated the deer?

Unlucky for the damage though mate.

silly animals! I nearly took out a cat, fox and rabbit creature last night, but thought better of it. Not quite as impressive as a deer though!

Nearly hit a dog last night. Was doing about 70 and come round a corner and on the other side of the road there's a woman with a dog on a lead so I braked a bit and pulled the clutch in so I didn't scare the dog, get past fine and then I look in front and there's a dog not on a lead on the right hand side of the road which stays there, then there's one on the left which tries to get out the way by running in front of me lol. I was probably doing about 50 at this point, then my emergency stop practice comes into play and it starts running the same way I'm going but getting right in the way so I moved out into the middle of the road and was about a foot at the most away from him. Proper shit me up lol. Thinking back I should have gone and gone and had a go at the woman as they must have been hers because they were the same type of dog (whippet) that she was walking.

Just hit one myself in the 205 about an hour ago.

Wasn't hanging about and it jumped straight out of a bush, fucking things. Smashed headlight and front bumper.

I hit a bird other day. Little bugger flew outta the hedgerow and hit me in the chest like a fat tasty bullet.

I was thinkin about it after actually, whats the biggest we can survive? Obviously a deer is survivable, I assume a cow would be harder to cut in half?

A fully grown deer is about the size of a horse isn't it? I very much doubt you could survive hitting an adult stag.

hit it fast enough, yes...

i reckon a flat out 160mph collision with a side on cow could go unscathed for the biker. although guts to the face.

youd have to be ducked behind the screen though.

anyone willing to try?
i might if it isnt my bike.

150lb Deer vs BMW

Apparently the BMW was doing 140mph on impact so I'd imagine if a car can pretty much liquidise and animal at that speed a bike could well slice it in two.

a while ago now, one of my colleagues had to attend a fatal incident in the early hours of the morning, a random cow had wondered out onto the road in the dark, bloke in a car comes round the bend sees the cow brakes sharp but still hits it. the front end of the car was destroyed and the carcas went through the window and crushed the driver took several police and firemen to move the dead cow by which time the driver had died.
