Sorry if this is a bit rantish but i'm fuming.

Cracking day went for a blast out in the countryside, really enjoying myself while being Mr Nice through villages and slowing down when this happened.

Exiting a village NSL sign no more than 100 metres away so i started winding up when this old plonker walking towards me on the pavement jumps into the road pointing his finger at me and shaking his fist.

Cue some seriously quick countersteering to avoid a collision and a change of underwear !

Its not like i was gunning it through the middle of sleepyville i was just about to enter an NSL with no houses / puppies / kittens etc around.

It was so sudden and unexpected just to leap of the pavement into the fking road like that he must have been mad.

i'm sick of twats like him always assuming your out to kill just cause you like to ride a bike.

ok rant over....anyone else ever had an similar experience ?

And if it was some 7ft tall beefcake with a pit-bull?Wink

The doddering old fool probably thinks getting on the bus is a bit adventurous and motorways are for the suicidal. I wouldn't worry about it.

It's not just a bike thing, sometimes you get some busybody give you the slow down sign in a car.

These are the same twats that stand profusely around the next corner with a speed gun. Bunch of cunts the lot of em.

They are usually about 70, wear a tatty grey cotton suit and have white hair. If you spot one; Kill one.

On old fool tried to push my mate off a pushbike once. Dunno what his problem was but we were riding in the road.

Gotta give the old guy credit though for not taking crap (whatever his problem was) as there was quite a few of us coming back from football match. They don't make 'em like they used to Twisted Evil

But if i take the bike to work i always give it a nice rev outside his house at 5.30am Very Happy

Nightmare......they're everywhere!

I live down a mile-long single lane farm road with a heap of gravel and crap in the middle, so I have to tuck into the side.....(get thwacked by the cow parsley, but that's another issue) and I regularly get abused by ramblers!

........soapbox......I bloody live there, drive/ride really carefully as always looking out for them, cycles and horses and they stomp about like they own the place!

I'd love to stop and thump them, but they're ignorant morons and I figure why waste energy and get into trouble over them. Fortunately no-one's caused me to have an accident or a near miss, but I'm sure I would lose the plot if that did happen Embarassed

All I can say is well done for keeping your cool and thank goodness for being a good enough rider!

yep i'm sure every village has it idiot. just a shame i encountered one today as it really put a downer on my ride.

as much as you try an shake off a moment like that sometimes it just doesn't go and then everything else feels wrong.

it shook me up quite bad as if a car had been coming toward me it would have been damn close.

afterward i just couldn't ride right. the handling felt weird...the brakes wrong...strange rattlings the works.

all in my head but it puts you off.

one day he and the others like him wil jump in front of something that doesn't stop.

Game Over.

What an idiot, just watched that video too, it's suicidal, it's not like you have the option of running him down, and if you did, you would hit the tarmac and would probably get raped by the law, unless there were witnesses.

These people deserve a punch, might make them reconsider almost killing normal bikers.

I was stuck behind some old biddy yesterday doing 25mph in a 40! it was painful, couldn't overtake either, the way she was weaving on the road and traffic coming the other way, didn't seem worth it. Luckily the old crone turned off before I 'adjusted' her mirrors

I get it all the time being a Service Engineer.

I give up with alot of drivers. It's so common that i've got used to it now.

As for people jumping out onto the road, I've not had it yet. Best not either as I take no prisoners.

Horn and lights first then brake Thumbs Up I so want an ex-train airhorn. They;d soon shift Mr. Green Twisted Evil

Sorry but there's something fishy about this story. There's no way on earth you would not have stopped and gone back to consult this gentleman if this really happened.

I suspect an overactive internet imagination.

Bollocks.

It happened to me a while ago, while I was doing 30 in a 30 FFS!

He stepped out and waved his arm up and down gesturing to slow down the freak! So I gave him the middle finger and laughed at him, whats the point in stopping?.........Its only going to end in a nicking or why else would you stop?
