Just saw this kid on a Cagiva Mito overtake some chavs in a crappy mark 3 Escort & a piece of shit 106 or other generic racer boy racer Saxo look-a-like and the faggots in the car started shouting abuse at the kid for overtaking them (as they were clearly trying to rag there cars and weren't able to keep him from overtaking them. The nonces then try to ram the kid off of the road and I saw him just get away from them as he full throttled down the road and both cars chased him. I couldn't actually believe what had just happened, however I was walking home at the time and wasn't in/on any vehicle to follow them but my god I was in the right mind to use my helmet to 'disconnect' one of the windows of the cars and hopefully allow some of the shards to rip through the mugs head. Just wanted to rant at how much of a faggot some people can be! Evil or Very Mad Hope the lads okay anyway...

It isn't just chavs , older people do it too , I've told many a true story about nearly being rammed off the road on the NTV while overtaking the odd car here and there, the worst one was probably the metalic blue rover the one with a huge rear number plate.

probably why I'll never ride anything below 250cc (barring 2 strokes) as Ged once said to me power can get you out of trouble.

Kinda makes you lose hope in humanity.

The chavs were probably lacking in the trouser departments, hence the disgusting reaction.

That's awful, I feel really sorry for the kid on the bike. Like you said, hopefully he's ok.

Hmmm, I spose if you have the power to overtake them you have a good chance of getting away. If I was on a 600 bike I would of adjusted his mirrors.

A similar incident happened in Gloucester the other evening; Gloucester is a grid-locked nightmare at the moment due to several serious roadworks one of which continues on the A40 until November. Anyway, there are 10 bikes filtering down a dual-carriageway and I'm 4th in line. As the guy in front of me filters past a white Japanese van it starts to veer across his path. The biker gets through and the van drifts back left; as I approach he once again begins to close the gap. However, the traffic goes stationary at this point so I pull up along side (warm day windows open) and with my sternest of expressions ask the old fart "Are you doing that on purpose?" I was about to ask "Or do you just lack control" when he moved as far left as he could and let the rest of us through.

Personally although I appreciate that people can, for whatever perverse reason, get ticked off at the progress a bike can make I just don't understand the mentality of these people. I mean how much longer will it take to clear the congestion if they knock a biker off? I just want to stop and ask them sometimes if they appreciate that under the gear, behind the helmet and visor, there's a human being who's life they're endangering. You know we're not "a truck, "a car", "a bus" or "a bike" we're people driving or riding a vehicle.

Bit biker poem'esque and I apologise for the similarity but it's this lack of respect and consideration that also pisses me off.

EDIT: I feel I should add that most drivers have been very helpful, some really going out of their way to assist the passage of filtering bikes.

A guy pulled out in front of me at a junction causing me to break quite sharply. I had just thumped the back of his car with my foot and was taking breath to give a rant when he started apologising profusely.

Felt a bit small then Embarassed

YOU ONLY NEED TWO TOOLS IN LIFE - WD-40 AND DUCT TAPE. IF IT DOESN'T MOVE AND SHOULD, USE THE WD-40. IF IT SHOULDN'T MOVE AND DOES, USE THE DUCT TAPE.

im new to riding and i am amazed at how car drivers are towards bikes. shocking. some are great to me, give the space etc. but others just plain dont like people on 2 wheels and i think they are dangerous, selfish c**nts. fair enough, monday mornings and most are asleep in the traffic, but to deliberately cut you up, or swerve in the way...its...its...(too many descriptive words). ..its so tempting to get a bike cam just to record my journeys in case something did happen Neutral

Just keep your wits about you , this is the key to riding...

I've got a funny story about this, when I filtered between 2 BMWs ,on a 3 lane road, BMW on the left moved to the right to block me, BMW on the right moved to the left to block me off at the same time, 2 crumpled cars, I just went round them and laughed (I apparently should have stopped and acted as a witness).

Fantastic, Laughing I'd have stopped and asked, all innocent like

"do you need a witness to the crash".... " well tough, fu(k you!" and ridden off.

On the downside though you could quite easily have ended up as a metal sandwich between the 2
Thumbs Down

haha! that'll learn them Razz

"ride defensively" was the golden rule i was told before riding, and ya sure have to! its amazing the visibility on a bike, ive already seen a few things going on when taking a glance in a cars side mirror! mmm bogeys...

i know when i am not in 'passing my test' mode i will be able to get to grips a bit better, like after doing the car test and people would say "now you learn to drive..."
i would feel i could gun it off the line faster, whereas the only way to get off the line with my bike is either very patiently or like you stuck a rocket up its arse and scream like a demented hair drier (and thats just my laugh). i dont think the latter is the prime choice on the bike test though...
however, an old guy in an astra overtook me exiting a roundabout this morning (i was taking 1st exit, he took the right lane to also do 1st exit). i wasnt in hair dryer mode as there was lots of traffic. we were only going up to another roundabout that was jammed up too. the problem i had with him was that he unnecessarily cut me up after overtaking me. i flicked the bird and gave him a name as it was bang out of order, and rode on past Middle Finger
