Any of you guys been on one, seen one at a show etc?

I can't work out if they are cool or an abomination.

vid here

Seems to take the skill out of it, but I wouldn't mind playing on one to practice my stand ups.

Wouldn't mind having a go on one, but its nothing like pulling a propper wheelie as there's no wind and balancing involved, just throttle control.
Seems pretty pointless Laughing

Surely it must cost a fortune to have a go to pay for the bike that gets thrashed?!

They seem to really try and pull the bike up initially...is that accepted technique to start a wheelie? I thought it was all clutch action?

Would like to know how realistic they are compared to a real wheelie, would also like to know if getting it up is the same as a real wheelie or the machine helps, same for keeping the balance point.

Most of them would of been eating concrete from the looks of things. Smile

Anyone tried it?

I saw the other vids, but that was a good demo. The amount of birds that are in the vids that no doubt think they are badass because they can pin it with the strap is concerning... but never mind.

By the looks of it they all have massive rear sprockets and only ever seem to be in first/second (ie theres no gear changing).

Whilst the wheelies are all awful throttle chop abominations, I really wouldn't mind having a go to practice my stand ups as at the moment my position is all cock eyed.

Well you could power that up or just clutch it stupidly easily, I really dont see why theyre all yanking at the bike like that Neutral

you push down on the forks then use the rebound to give you an extra lift.

Better to bounce down on the pegs in my opinion. Gives you a bigger bounce generally and your throttle hand a little more control.

Bonny; you got your left foot on the pillion peg?

Might have to try that for launching in third. I love trying to launch wheelies in the wet as it either goes up or spins, but tried hopping it and damn near highsided the bike in the resulting wheelspin.

I can do them stag yes, but its not really standing up. More hovering with my left leg perpendicular to my body.
I want to learn stand ups properly, but with my height and build (6'4, 15-16 stone depending on ambient humidity lol) I really wonder if the logistics are feasible.

yep they would the rope is there to stop the bike fallin bak, and 90% of people in the vids ive seen look to be hanging off the back of the bike ( wich is being help up only by the safety rope) and pumpin the throttle. Having said that i wouldnt mind a go to compare Thumbs Up
