Whilst persuing t'interweb at work today, i happened across this chipper chappy - Don Geffene:

Described as "an above average pilot, and an above average ladies man".
(The bounder, the rotter, the cad!)
Geffene is pictured here in 1942 with "with his two favorite machines, his trusty Enfield Motorcycle and his personal Hurricane".
I like the cut of his jib so much, that i'm prepared to overlook the whole 'knee-socks and sandals' thing.

What a life! Romancing the ladies by night, and by day either tackling the b-roads on the Enfield, or aboard the humpy, feeding hot, lead sandwiches to Jerry and the Japs!
They don't like it up 'em!

Completely off topic, but it does have a bike and plane theme, a Top Gun one at that.

A work colleagues brother is an RAF flying instructor down in Anglesey teaching all the budding pilots to fly in the Hawks through the valleys and whatnot.

He found this photo of a a few years back when Hawk Kawasaki visited the base and had a few speed runs down the runway with his brother at the stick.
