No you can still keep your license, you are allowed upto 12points on a provisional, when you pass your test you will not be allowed an le-way when it comes to the new driver rule, so if you get 1 extra point you will have your license revoked.

Don't get any more points. Insurance will be super expensive.

Out of interest, how did you manage to hit 75 on a 14bhp 125?

As said by SM.Morgan you're ok on a provisional with 6 or more
Quote:

If six or more points are added to a provisional licence, for example for two speeding offences, and the driver then passes the driving-test, their licence will be safe for the time being. However if any other points go on the licence in the two-year period, then they will have amassed six or more in that period and their full licence will be lost.

yeah you're allowed 12 points on a provisional license. but only 6 points after your first 2 years of passing your full test. seems stupid but thats the way it is

I believe that once you pass your test, you still have those 12 points. But that doesnt mean that you get banned. It means that if you get another point you will get a ban.

While your still on L plates you could get away with one more set of 3 points but I wouldnt recommend it Very Happy

aye, thats about right. So dont get you test and get caught speeding, or doing anything wrong, or yous fucked innit.

Ignore big_ham, he assumes the best in people and thought youd be restricted. Obviously youre a rebel...20 brake dude!

Mr. Green

I joleth.

Shouldnt cancel out your no claims btw, youll just have to declare 6 points when you apply for insurance.

You dont get banned your licence is revoked. You have to retake your test to get the licence back.
If you have car and bike and its revoked you only have to re-do one of the tests to get both back.

It also means you can do CBT asap to get transport back quicker

You are lucky, 75 (ish) in a 30 is double the limit and up before the beak usually.

Why LOL? You like paying fines and getting points?? Confused Shocked

Then you're quite lucky you didn't get done for no license and no insurance, too, aren't you?

That would be a ban for sure.

It's possible. The Yamaha R125 touches an indicated 80mph.

On a similar note....when you get points, do you have to tell insurance straight away, or at renewal?

It's a 2t though.

Either hold of the test until 3 points are gone to give you a buffer or be careful one mistake and it'll be back to square 1.

I'd suggest sticking the bike away until you've had a good think about the speed you were doing in such a low limit area.
You got very lucky there mate. Take it as fair warning and slow your ass down.
Built up areas are not the place to be ringing the neck off your bike regardless of who or what is challenging you.
