I was riding along when my bike lost power and died, to cut a long story short, It now starts *after ages* and then idles for a while then revs high and dies. I can see that when the engine is off, the petrol is dripping still into the carb Confused
Does anyone no whats wrong?

Sorry Embarassed Its an old suzuki gp100.

the story is, i was abroad for a while and *lent* the bike to my friend on the condition i had it back when i got home, this way it wouldnt be stored up and my friend could use my bike as a learning tool (he only has a 125 rev and go) Well, i got home and it was a bit of a state, i only had the bike a month before i left and never used it at all apart from to the shop and back (it still had the same tank of petrol Laughing ) and now i have come back to it with power filter, stickers galore, different exhaust (tatty second hand one) and so on and son, i am informed that things have been messed with in order to accomodate the new exhaust etc. Well i wasnt too pleased but life goes on.. Laughing

Hi, i swapped it over to reserve (why didnt i try that first Embarassed ) and it seemed fine and all ok. so i thought it was good to go again, so i went on a run and ended up in the petrol station to fill the tank, so i filled it up and went back to the bike and it wouldnt start Confused It kicked over and over until finally it did start, very reluctantly. What is wrong with it Mad Crying or Very sad ?
Also, on a different note, does anyone no why when i turn on the left indicator the front right indicator flashes instead of the front left as it should, the back is fine.

your friend has crashed your bike. go fuck him up.
he sounds a twat, no-one modifies someone elses bike!

your indicators are wired wrong.
take off the headlight (small screw somewhere around the rim and it pulls out) and swap them over, should be bullet connectors, so just follow the wires from the indicators.

get stock parts... a ''power filter'' and a ''racing exhaust'' do nothing but ruin an engine at the gain of giving performance provided its done properly.

if i were you, i would make your friend buy the bike off you for what it was worth when you left it with him. a GP100 is not a bike to be ''tuned''.

buy a stock exhaust, and put a stock airbox back on. if he did the work himself, he probably was too thick to jet it properly, so chances are you can just put the old parts back on.

if he got a garage to do it, then you need to jet it back to stock.

if he did these ''mods'' to it, sounds like he ragged it.

it will cost a lot to put right.
