I understand that it does... and you can throw the insurance database into the mix as well.. ____________________ 2016 CBF1000F - Commuter heaven | 1994 CBR600FR - Awaiting defibrillation |

The UK ANPR system is intended to automatically alert police if a car is stolen, if road tax hasn't been paid or the MoT is out of date, or if the driver is uninsured. For good measure, it's supposed to check whether there is a warrant for the arrest of the driver, or whether the driver is for some reason under police surveillance.

It probably tells them what colour eyes you have and your inside leg measurement these days! In fact, everytime I get questioned by police it's the old "Any distinguishing features?" routine, even after they've seen my photocard licence. They know full well I have a foot long scar accross my stomach, so I always say no just to piss them off.
I recently had a new passport, and it has a chip in the back page. I read the bumff that came with it and it says it's a "tracking chip", and that I should keep it away from magnetic fields! Just thought I'd share that with you. ____________________ Current: ZZR1400

RFID is short range,
just wrap your passport in a faraday cage wallet and nothing will be able to scan it,
in HK they have an octopus card (the London Oyster card but this came in around 1995) I have a RFID proof wallet, and it would never scan , so I had to take it out to use it.
for once foil wrapping WILL work. ____________________ Spain 2008France 2007Big one 2009 We all die. The goal isn't to live forever, the goal is to create something that will. In the end, your life will flash before your eyes. Make sure it is worth watching. |

Should rephrase that . . . . It will bring up any info that has been input as in if the vehicle has been seen in suspicious circumstances, etc. It will be flagged up for a stop-check. |
thats more like it. a system thats only as good as the info thats fed into it. I like anpr, if it targets suspicious vehicles then in theory theres less need to stop innocent motorists for random checks - although i understand these have their uses too. ____________________ Current : '08 Yamaha FZ1s
