Erm, don't put any amount of fuel directly into the carb because it just backfires and goes bang.... really loudly... Oh and then catches fire in the air box...

Infact, REALLY REALLY loudly...

Any idea for getting a bike started of which has a spark (obviously!)

And it's getting fuel...

And air....

I'm thinking it could be too much redex, so im getting a gallon of fuel in a while, see if it helps at all!

If its got a spark at the right time, compression, and fuel it should fire, it may not run right but it will fire.

Too much redex shouldn't cause that to happen.

stinkwheel Well I just had my hands up a pigs fanny. Which makes your concerns pale into insignificance.

it seems to eb running now, but god knows if it'll run come morning, im getting up early, giving it a good 30mins warm up at idle and then going for my MOT, if i make it thats a weight off my shoulders, if i dont, i'll try and sort out the problem before i next book.

Leaving a bike running for half hour on tick over will do it no good at all.

If you've ignited fuel-air in the airbox either your ignition or cam timing is out causing the spark to happen when the inlet is open or one of your inlet valves is bent or burnt causing combustion to ignite whats in the airbox.

Making the engine run by pouring fuel into the hole is not a cure for your problem, you need to find and fix the problem then the engine will run properly as a by-product.

wey not half an hour perhaps, it gets warm pretty quickly.

Once i've passed/failed today i'll have a look at the ignition timing see how it is, if thats alright i'll check the cam.
