My cb500 is meant to have:
Rear ~ 130/80/17
Front ~ 110/80/17

But it actually has:
Rear ~ 150/60/17
front ~ 110/70/17

Does it matter much?

I cant seem to get rid of the chicken strips on the tyre even though i'm pretty much at knee down type lean, and my mate said it was because the rear tyre is a race size tyre for a bike with a wider rim!
Because they have been fitted to my bike with a thinner wheel,it's causeing the tyre to wrap round more=therefore i will never get rid of the strips.
Any advice on this?

Thanks
Dave

You can clean the edges off your tyres if you DON'T hang off your bike , there is also a school of though that says logically if you hang off the wrong side then you'll get the bike even lower for a given speed, looks odd though.

Standard sizes are 110/70-17 and 130/70-17.

The back tyre is too wide, perhaps it is distorting a bit when cornering.

Added to that, there isn't a huge amount of ground clearance on a CB500 anyway. I always used to end up scraping the footpegs.

I'd recommend the 130 section for the rear, BT45s are pretty good. Thumbs Up
