I'd also apprecaite any scooter peugeot workshop manuals? I'm going to pull apart/put back together an old pug zenith - but this is all new to me, obviously.

I'm hoping this isn't a joke cos if it is I've just made myself look stupid. But two strokes operate by mixing lubricating oil with the fuel, so you either mix two stroke oil in with the fuel before filling or you might find it has a separate oil reservoir somewhere you need to keep topped up.

I agree with you!
this must be a joke, if it isnt i recommend you stay away from bikes mate lmao!

A two stroke gets ALL its oil from its petrol, and the oil gets put into its petrol (as you should know lmao!). They oil gets used up when the petrol gets burnt up. So there isn't any oil to change, and yeah what ever he said lol.

The only other oil a 2 stroke has is its gear oil which rarely gets changed because no carbon deposits get into it really. Thats if it has a gearbox, scooters dont BTW lol! They have a variator and that has no oil.

Not strictly true, some two strokes do still have oil in the crankcase.

However I don't think so on your pug.

Obviously there's the 2 stroke oil but all bikes need gearbox oil aswell.

Usually on scooters it's at the back around where the clutch is. You will more than likely have to take the variator case off and there will be two bolts, one above another. The top one will be for putting oil in and the bottom one for draining it out.

Take the variator casing off and take a picture of the rear pulley (clutch) and it's surroundings and post it up.

I have never seen a Zenith but I have owned a couple of scooters a few years ago. Its not clear whether you are aiming to change the two stroke oil that is mixed with the petrol before combustion or the transmission oil.
The two stoke oil on almost all scooters does not need to be mixed with the petrol by the rider; there is a seperate tank and it is mixed with the petrol before combustion. This tank is usually beneath the seat at the the very back end of the scooter and needs filling very regularly.
The transmission oil is usually removed by removing a bolt from the bottom of the transmission case near the rear wheel; just place a container underneath to drain the oil into then replace the bolt. There is then usually a plastic screw at the top of the transmission case again near the rear wheel to fill with new oil (you will likely be able to see this in second picture but its too small for me to see).

Mine is like that but sometimes it can be 2 bolts inside the casing like this:

If you look at the 2 bolts behind the clutch assembly, the bottom one is for draining the oil and the top one for topping it back up.

I've never understood how you top it up though as the channel the oil will go down seems to be horizontal Confused
