on my way to work this morning taking my usual route
im going straight on at this island and see this car approaching from the left looking like it aint seen me so is not stopping or slowing down
so i started to slow down but not enough to stop im doing about 5 mph now
she didnt even see me at all and she clipped my front wheel as i turned to avoid her
next thing i know im on the deck and bike is down
when she got out her car first words she said was '' I'm sorry just didnt see you at all it's my fault''
the police were just passing so they stopped aswell and she even told them it was her fault and they called it in to show on their log report that she was to blame
damage to my bike is
headlight smashed
indicator broken
top fairing broken
bottom fairing scuffed
front brake lever bent
back brake lever bent
exhaust can bent and scuffed
front wheel/disc brake bent or buckled

hopefully bike is been picked up tomorrow
now im not sure if they will write it off due to the age and value of bike and the fact that it was a cat c some years back
maybe someone could shed some light as to where i stand regarding that
bike is a honda nsr125r x reg

absolutley pissed at this but im ok physically

steve

Just how vacant do you have to be to do something like that? Glad you're okay, and hopefully the bike will be fixable. Thumbs Up

Glad you ok bud Thumbs Up Sounds like a goody/baddy this one. On one hand rotten luck for meeting the short sighted bint but on the other good luck that plod was there to witness her. The last time I heard things like 'Im sorry I just didnt see you' and 'it was my fault Im sorry' was 3 years ago. In the ensuing battle this turned into things like 'The defendant struck the back of my car, I must assume that he wasnt looking where he was going' and 'The defendant had to be removed from the area as he was becoming abusive'.

Hope everything goes well and you get averything sorted quickly and efficiently

Sorry to hear that pal. From the description of the damage it looks likely to be a write off which is a bastard, but you really never know, but at least you are ok.

This could work out well for you, pass your test while on a loan bike from the insurance, get paid out and buy a bigger bike!

Whatever you do dont accept the first offer you are given. Your bike will definately be a write off im afraid.

Glad you are ok tho!

100MPG or something like that. Yamahas answer to the Honda CG.

At least you'll save some money on petrol at the expense of speed.

well i got a call from the bike repairers this morning to say that it wont be fixed due to the cost of parts against the value of the bike
so now ive got to wait and here from insurance company now
god knows what they are going to give me
will they let me have it back, maybe then i could break it up
and try and recoup some money that way
on a more happier note i start my DAS training tomorrow

Apparently the best way is never accept the first offer they give you, say its unreasonable and worth more than that.

and depends on insurance company whether you can buy the bike back, some do, some dont. will have to check yours out.
