My ankle. It's a right ball-ache. Did it last night in town, was play fighting with a mate and another mate picked me up from behind and as I fell I landed awkwardly and now I've been in pain ever since. Went to A&E and fell asleep in the wrong X-ray room, not good Rolling Eyes

Anyways, anyone else ever broken a foot or ankle? Mine wrecks!

Err no, I'm sure I would remember it. You might want to change the "picked me up from behind" part. You know what people are like. Wink

Hi

Charlotte has done it a few times. She seemed to get used to it Shocked . Since she broke her leg in style her ankle seems to have been far less of a problem.

All the best

Keith

I can hardly walk and I had to beg my boss for the day off to rest it, he wanted me to go in and do a service on a GSXR600 and a GS500.

Well it was more me to be honest, I don't like letting him down, and I love my job anyways so I am bored as fuck sat at home and I wish I could be there because I feel harshcos I've left a couple of jobs half done whilst waiting for parts which he's gonna have to finish off. I said if you REALLY need me to come in I will try but I won't be able to push any bikes round or anything, then he said just rest it. So here I am. And I am so bored.

Nasty. Never, broken my ankle but I broke my arm few years back, came down a hill on a micro scooter, and hit the dog at about 35. the only good thing about broken bones is that they say they heal stronger than they were.

I don't think they do heal stronger than they were Smile they just start aching when it's cold weather. Broke my finger playing football is all i've broken though, touch wood. You should stay off work for at least 2 weeks with a broken ankle cause if you fall, you could damage it again, and under health and safety you shouldn't be put in that position anyway. Also ankles take a long time to heal, even if it's not damaged due to a break. You should fine it will twinge/hurt for about 2 months from now but will get better eventually (done my ankle ligaments at football once when a guy decided to attack me from the side with both feet, in the first minute,, played on and scored a hat trick though, didn't realise till I went to hospital it was messed that bad Smile)

I broke/sprained/chipped the bone in my ankle new years eve/day 2001/02 (no doctor, I wasn't drunk, I just slipped on some ice this morning, honestly) and then wandered around on it in a stupor for a few hours. Plaster for 6 weeks or so, could have been longer but i just put the bloody stupid shoe on and walked about as usual, hurts a bit but crutches are ridiculous things. Then again as stu said, you want to keep off it entirely for a few weeks. Just make sure you do all the physio things religiously once the plaster's off, keep it from stiffening up too much.
Good luck with it anyway Wink

Oh fun for you mate.

Going in to work with a broken ankle could actually be against some h&s rules somewhere as your not really mobile etc so you'd be putting yourself and possibly others at risk.

But as you say sitting around doing nowt is no fun (I do it everyday - its called work Laughing ).

All the best.

I broke my left one on a bike when I was 17.

Took 6 weeks to get better then another month to get my leg back to normal.

It's probably two dogs now. Or many differing pieces of a dog. At 35 it's going to at least make a nasty mark on the dog. Confused
