I've got a problem with my comp which I can't fix! I keep getting random popups when I open IE windows, they often go to the same place, adverts for things, one being 'trafficmarketplace'. I've run adaware, spyware search and destroy, 2 virus checkers and cannot remove it, I've gone through the registry endlessley and it's just not coming out. Anyone know what it is and how to get rid of it?

What websites are you visiting thats bringing up these popups? Or would you rather not tell? Wink

I'm not, its every 2 or 3 new IE windows or pages I visit that brings them up, they seem innocent enough, one of them is advertising the Finding Nemo video etc... but it's really annoying.

Do you have Kazaa installed?

In the title bar of the popups, does it tell you where its from (GAIN for exapmle)?

I got this when I used Kazaa, and the solution I had was to use a program that is specifically intended to cut out the stuff from Kazaa called Diet K. (just go to dietk.com)

If you really can't get rid of it, you could always just transfer to to something like Mozilla Firefox...

Is ad-aware a free download btw? I've got a problem with a pc that has the same thin Phoe described, pop-ups everywhere. I tried a free adware package but all that did was tell me what there was on the comp, not actually do anything about it Confused

Stop-Zilla is a great pop-up killer. You have to pay for it though Crying or Very sad That is unless you have access to the cracks! Twisted Evil Which I don't of course Wink

The one in firefox is brilliant, hasn't let me down yet. Oh and it's free. Wink You also get tabbed browsing so it's easier to make it look like you're doing work when the boss comes over. Thumbs Up
