Hi all,
just replaced my grips, (free ones from fast bikes mag) as old ones were all torn at the ends.
but when i open up the throttle & then let go, it returns but very slowly??
so what have i done wrong?
i had the clip ons off as im replacing one of them, after bending it, when i slid off last week, lol
took me ages to get them on, using hairspray! lol
i also had the carb off to replace the airfilter & jet, but im pretty sure that ends ok.
any ideas?
cheers,
GAZ

Take your switchgear apart again and check the cable returns, pull it (probably need pliers, it will be quite stiff) and let go, if it snaps back you can rule out cable/carbs.

If its not the cable/carbs, then make sure your clipon is clean on the part where the throttle tube goes, then put it all back together, if this doesnt fix it then it will be down to your grip touching either the switchgear or the barend, this requires careful pulling into the right place or a washer to move the bar end out a bit.

Cheers
John

cruise controll.... stop complaining...
id say they are cathing on the switch gear or the end of the bars.
are you sure you didnt bend the carb needle when you put it back together?

Try spraying some spray grease between the plastic throttle tube and the clipon. Thumbs Up

cruise control.. lol
carbs fine, definately the grip.
not catching on the switch gear, no bar end so i can only presume the plastic throttle tube is somehow catching on the end of the bar???
& i put some grease on the bar before i put the throttle back on.
1 day & im kinda used to it,but i guess i should sort it, in case i sell it or i forget.
cheers,

sounds like you just pushed the grip on a little too far and its rubbing against the switch gear, move it back so theres about 1-5mm between the grip and switchgear and youll be sorted

very much like virus advised Embarassed

That will be it, the grease will clog it up.

It doesnt need any lubricant, best bet is to take the throttle tube off, clean it up then put it back together.

Cheers
