Not even got a clue where to start with that particular bike but if it helps a little bit the TDR ran over the same time scale (1988-1992) and just under 2000 of them were brought into the UK...

might give you a rough scale to start with i guess Laughing

best bet is to contact honda uk, they should be able to give you an exact figure Thumbs Up

Honda made a fair few. It certainly wasn't a 'limited edition' model, it just never took off after the superdream.

I've got a CD250U. They are pretty rare bikes but not as rare as you might think - my MOT tester says there's still several that he sees every year. People tend to hang on to them, apparently.

I really like mine, it's a reliable bike with enough poke to keep up with the traffic but is still very cheap to run. The front suspension is a bit soggy (replacing the fork oil makes it much better) but for the money you can't complain.

Classic Motorcycle Mechanics did a feature on them a couple of months ago, that would be a good source of info if you want more.

That I know of the CD250U J/K were only made during 1988-89 but were sold between 1988-1994.

Due to the price, something like £500 less than a CBR600 at the time they didn't sell well although the quality of the bike is very much a reflection of the bike. Most owners will tell you they are pretty much bullet proof.

Due (I believe) to the low sales there was a police version built by Honda UK for use in rural areas. This version has a twin seat, Rickman topbox and panniers as well as a Rickman fairing. Colours were standard blue for the bodywork with the extras in plain white. No additional lights were fitted.

East Sussex Police for example owned around 200 of these models and disposed of them around 1999-2000.

I believe they were also used by a few forces up north as well.

I'm amused - it appears to have some GB in it's lineage.

Popular in Aus if I remember correctly...
