Im after an insurance company that will cover me third party on anyother bike. Just have a few questions.

. What are the names of compaines that do this?
. What cc does the bike have to be (actual insured bike)?
. Do I have to be a certain age?
. Does insurance have to be fully comp?

Cheers all,

Damon

Most of them will, but with differing conditions.
See above; often over 250-350cc.
See above; often over 21-25, not in all cases.
No, some will do it even for TPO insurance.

They all had it included in quotes for me once I'd been riding for a year with my full licence.

I'm insured with H&R TPFT and I'm covered TP to ride any other bikes. Dunno about if there's an age limit involved but then there's probably differences within each company.

Remember it can't be another bike you own or have hired.

Often is a £ added extra now along with carrying a pillion. Twisted Evil

Carole Nash do it. I have it, never needed it though as I don't have any mates who have a bike. Crying or Very sad

Useful in the car though.

I've had it as standard with both MCE and Carole Nash - TPFT cover.

Big argument about this in another thread - I'd say it only has to be if it states that in the policy.

chimes in

Whereas I'd say it isnt worth the risk to your licence to not have it insured while the matter is such a grey area.

Besides, it stops your ass being constantly tugged by APNR.

If there’s lots of ANPR in your area, might be worth it. Only stuff around here is pretty obvious, so far.
In the end, if you don’t want to risk your licence, don’t ride on the road Smile … police can and will do you if they feel like it, regardless of guilt Neutral.

Hi

While your insurance may or may not state that the bike needs to be insured for your 3rd party cover to cover you on it, in either case when you are not riding it then it isn't insured. Such as getting off the bike to pay for petrol, etc.

Think you would really struggle to find a policy that says any bike is insured in your name.

All the best

Keith

Hi

To an extent yes, but that generally requires trading.

All the best

Yeah I wouldn't want to be paying trade rates though.

hiya mate

ive been after a multi bike policy and one that allows me to ride any bike. handy to nick a mates bike to fly to the shop.

because im only 19 both of these were impossible as multi bike quotes were ridiculous

anyway i triedbikesure part of adrian flux, at the moment im paying £320 for my scooter £40 a month, and £200 for the bandit tpo £25 a month

i got a quote for both bikes, legal cover, injury cover, use of any bike third party only (says in bold letters in my policy Cool ) for £423.71, worksout £48 a month

so not only am i saving £20 a month i can rest assured if i borrowed my mates bike and i got stopped i would be covered and i dont have 2 lots of payments to pay each month

give them a call, just say is it possible to have cover for all bikes. there like sure sure etc

well happy Very Happy

Bikesure callback form

I've got Bounce (q plate), the trike and the beetle all with Adrian Flux - they tend to be a little more expensive than other places I've had quotes but then they will insure anything.
