https://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/london/7242445.stm

Seems 'gas-guzzlers' aren't all that are being targeted. Some pretty normal cars come under the new levy, all in the name of the environment. Rolling Eyes

Firstly, CO2 isn't the nasty gas that we're being told it is. Believe all the bullshit and lies if you want, it's your money.

WATCH THIS VID: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LCVQI-GI6Is

Anyway, seems the new stealth taxes are creeping ever closer without even a murmur...

I'm just going to avoid going into the zone like the plague using more fuel and creating more co2 in the process. Laughing

Volvo C90's and certain 4 wheel drive cars are also exempt due to their 'efficient engines'.

I think Ken should credit bike riders with say £3 when we drive in Central London for being 'good for the environment' and taking less space. Actually I'd settle for the right to ride in all bus lanes but that's another thread I guess!!

Why would he do that? They don't care about the enviroment; it's all about the cash. Rolling Eyes

And for your information Westminster council is charging bikes for parking as soon as their systems are up and running. Other boroughs will no doubt follow...

Thumbs Down

I'm well aware of that and I wrote to Robert Davis asking him if he would re-consider bike charges. Also I made the point that bikes should be able to park at anytime anywhere for free as long they weren't causing an obstruction, on double yellows, and in residents bays as long as they don't take up too much space! I got some half cocked reply about investment - so you are correct in saying it is a revenue earning opportunity - fleece the bikers!!

Porsche are after a judicial review about the new congestion charge.

I have never been to London (except to change trains on the way to Sussex). I never intend to go to London.

By London I mean everything encompassed by the M25. I have used the M25 but only to get to Kent.

I feel more and more that I have made the correct decision in this respect and would encourage others to likewise boycott the place.

You have.

I'd avoid the place like the plague but I need to go were the work is, although the extra pay does help slightly but not enough. Laughing

I could earn double what I do if I worked in London. It still remains an intensely unappealing prospect.

I always wondered why Red Ken was so against private cars until I read about his Alcahol Depedancy. The guy would never be sober enough to ever get behind the wheel of a car. So he doesn't care about those who actually need transport on a daily basis and keep themselves sober enough to drive.

Yep I get that feeling as well.

Have had to travel to Reading down the M40 a lot recently and as you get closer and closer to London, usually past Oxford the traffic starts getting heavier, and the black night sky slowly changes to a putrid orange colour.

London just doesn't appeal, closest I'd wanna live would be somewhere on the M4 corridor I think.

Hi

Boris has dropped the £25 Kengestion rip off. Unfortunatly it has cost him £400k in court costs to Porsche (but Porsche are donating it to charity).

All the best

Last night Jenny Jones, Green party assembly member, said she was appalled by the decision. "This is a mayor who is telling us he wants to see value for money, and to account for every penny, and here he is paying one of the richest car companies in the world hundreds of thousands of pounds of taxpayers' money."

Jenny Jones, you pratt, can you not see that ken dropped boris in it with this rather than boris just paying the money for the fun of it.

Im glad this has been panned. Boris seems to be doing a good job of things so far. Thumbs Up
