Ola, got myself a lil CBR400RR and being as its 19 years old the screen could do with replacing. Laughing that being said I went off and ordered a DB black screen (cause they just look better) and am patiently waiting for it to arrive. No have realised that the old screen has been pop-riveted on and I have no idea how I am goin to remove it without damaging the fairing.......!?! Arg! Any suhgestions? anyone?

Should be able to drill into the top of the rivet without doing any significant damage to the fairing.

First make sure they definately are pop-rivetts.

Honda are fans of using odd fittings with a pin down the middle. You push the pin in and it comes loose.

If they are actually pop rivetts, you need to drill them out. Select a drill the same size as the hole they are going through and drill from the head side. Piece of piss to do because they already have a hole in the middle to guide you.

Just drill slowly, they are usually made of pretty soft metal, you only need to go a couple of mm down before the head comes off the rivett (about 2-3seconds of drilling with a sharp drill bit).

The head lands up stuck on the drill bit and you'll burn your fingers trying to take them off. The rest will drop down into an inaccessable part of the instrument panel and short out something expensive.
