Ok, went on myspace to read a message from my long distance gf saying she has a new boyfriend, thanks for that.

As I'm reading, the guy I do labour for rings up to tell me I've been layed off.

Then once I've got off the phone my parents say they're going to the pub but I can't come because they don't like being seen in public with me. More specifically with the cricket club.

Not the worst problems in the world by a long way but I fell pretty sh*te now.

Thumbs Down

Funny you should say that about the GF, talking to a lovely lady with rather large assets over tinterweb as we speak Laughing

My dad is having an inverted midlife crisis.

He has suddenly decided time to grow up, started making freinds at the cricket club, cut off some of his mates Shocked bumming about with a bunch of business men (formerly referred to as greedy capitalist wankers), spending money on looking presentable rather than 3 for 2 shirts from tescos, and is being a complete hardass on me and my little sis. Probably only as much as other parents but it's a bit of a shock. And my mum appears to be cool with all this.

I dunno, his life, I haven't got a right to tell him what to do, but more than a bit sanctimonious.

Cheers mate

Mate I had a very similar experience this Junuary just gone...
I crashed my bike and bent it (took it off the road for 1-2 months.
My long distance gf decided to split up with me on the same day.
I found out she had cheated once and been lyign to me,
I was after a job but nout going on at the time.
It's getting better now obviously, but yeh we all get i...
You think "why does this happen to me?" right, you think that you're the only one that has to go through the bullshit all the time, "What have I done to deserve it?"
Exactly what I was thinking, keep your chin up geeza! Mr. Green Karma

I'll say the same I said to ?Virus?, cos it works:

Get a another job;
Then you will have cash and maybe even meet a new ladie through it, in some way.

There's a chance your parents etc will admire and respect you more for getting out there and sorting it yourself.

Good luck fella. Karma

They say bad things always happen in 3's and you had your 3 for today. I cant back that up or anything but thats what people here say to dismiss worry and shit feelings while patting you on the back going "there there, there there" Mr. Green

no sarcasm intended there, you just got it all on one plate. Now time to start new. Well with job and a new woman, parents you cant change unfortunatly. They can be so cruel.

Only if you choose to.

There's plenty of awesome girls out there. Seems odd I'm saying that when I'm technically single.... Laughing

Unlucky ncrn I know we were discussing this in the other thread, luckily ive managed to get a 6 month temp job which should go perm.

Moonie don't let it get you down, not the easiest thing to do but it will work itself out eventually.

Don't get worked up and keep looking long term and try and make some plan then you know what you want to do Thumbs Up

Summer / temp jobs will appear soon with all the uni's / schools closing so you should be able to find another job Thumbs Up

Don't get me wrong here as I mean well.
I think it is good this has happened to you at your age and you will learn
early that these things happen.Even all at once. Many people will learn
this later when they have a harder time getting back on track and may
have kids as well.
Best of luck with it.

Paddy.

Good news about that, hope it works out Thumbs Up. I might have found something doing data entry, looks dull but should be good if I do.

Sorry to break it to you bud, but long distance shit doesn't work.
My Ex dumped me out of the blue, Couldn't understand why or what I had done.
Im now making plans into getting my own place with my New girlfriend, Who I love more than anything, and to be fair, I havnt looked back once.
My ex doesn't like the fact that my current girlfriend used to work with her. I'm just grateful of it, If I hadn't of got with Chrissie (ex), I would never of Met Roxanne. (Current Girlfriend).

Life goes on usually to bigger and better things. Chin up man.

Gutted for you there mate, Did you fancy being a laborer for the rest of your days then?
Jobs aren't hard to find, Get yourself a "Get you by" job, then get hunting for a full on job. With a bit of luck the guy who laid you off will lay you down a nice enough reference, Along with the little job you get to keep you going.

IIRC you had that crazy mo-hawk spikey hair do going on?
Must be honest, when I was 15/16, I went through a bit of a grunger/greebo stage, I had long hair, wore over sized Linkin park hoodies and dragged a skateboard with me everywhere I went.

My mam was alright with it, But my dad HATED it, Even though when he was my age he was far worse than I ever was.

Now ive grown up and sorted out my appearance, I look back and can fully understand why my dad didn't really like been seen with me.

Once the grunger stage went out the window though, the girls were much easier to get. Wink

Chin up though man. Girls are all strange and evil.

Ahah I'd worked out the long distance thing doesn't work lol Laughing

the labouring was just a temp job for the summer as I'm starting 6th form in September and need to save for a ninja, but the bloke has given me a reference today, said sorry but they had too many employees, first in last out etc., seemed genuinely apologetic for it.

And I wouldn't mind my parents being like that at all, it's a lifestyle choice and I'm used to it, but it takes the piss a bit that my dad looked like this until about 3 weeks ago.
