I have lost my LH rear indicator cover thing which means there is an exposed bulb which just flashes white. My question is, is it ok to put any piece of orange plastic over this to pass the MOT as I cant find a replacement. It is an aftermarket set.

I was thinking cutting a piece of orange plastic to the right shape and double sided tape or some sort of glue.

Thanks

Just get a replacement indicator, it'll only cost a couple of quid.

AFAIK it's fine to use an orange bottle or something to make a lens. But to be honest, it would be easier and better in the long run just to buy a new indi. Most bike shops sell after market, Motrax or the like. Easy to wire, but sometimes you might have to solder connections off the old wires onto the new wires, but easy enough job.

Also, if you opt for LED indis, you will probably have to get a resistor thing to make it flash at the right speed.

Yes, as long as it emits orange light.

how do you know we have the same indis?? mine are not original, they are kind of triangle shaped. if you do that would be great.

I think its a one piece thing though. it just pops out and im left with a black housing with a bulb and shiny background. Could you upload a pic just to check. thanks

Cut up an Irn Bru bottle. Think that'll work. Is it the bottle that's orange? Or is the bottle clear and the Irn Bru is orange thus making the bottle look orange?
Either way you get to drink some Irn Bru so you'll win either way.
