On my way to willingham woods today, just before i get to market rason, i come across a accident just happened.

bloke has come of his bike and was killed instantly, i wont go into details, i dont want to be flamed for being disrespectful.

It was a mess, i got there before the police and ambulances, but was moved on 10 mins later by police as the helicopter wanted to land.

RIP biker dude.

Did you get any pictures? I ask that in an entirely respectful way.

No, i didnt think it would be appropriate. There wasnt much left to see, just a head and a pair of legs. The rest was splashed all over the road along with his bike.

I dont know exactly, i think he ran wide and had to dodge oncoming traffic. There wasnt anybody else involved i think, but i coudnt see anything on the road, due to the amont of blood and guts. His bike was torn clean in two, i dont know how but one half was wedged in a tree, right next to his legs. Sick

He still had his leather bottoms on and a pair of sidi boots.
the worst part was that his stomach was in the middle of the road, like it was cut out and put there.

There was a figure on the radio that said the amount of deaths on uk roads is disproportionately bikers. Something like a third of deaths when only 1 in a 100 road users.

Im not sure of the figures, but it was something like that.

Leather and a helmet may help if you are sliding along the road, but in a full on impact, we are kinda exposed to dismemberment and death.

Bikes really wdnt be worth the risk, if they werent such fun.

I think its something like 20% of accidents involve bikes but only 4% of road users are bikers or similar.

And theres me taking a brand new R6 for a test ride over the weekend. Sad

Makes you wonder really, the worst can happen at any moment. Though on the other hand if you dont have the full details of what happened, there could have been many reasons for the accident. Mechanical failure, driver error, maybe a bit of both? I think we all know the consequences of riding but to end up in peices, nobody deserves that. Sad

Bloody hell.

RIP.

If you want to take chances and be a hero, do it on the track where the worst you're likely to get 99% of the time is thrown down the track with a broken bone.

It doesn't mean that getting minced is always your fault, but you can manage the risk.

Ride safe people.

I wonder how long consciousness lasts after an accident like that, is it instant, or do you lie there for some seconds thinking oh well ... hopefully, it was instant.

condolences to family.
