Well, i made it back in one piece, very very tired though. 3 days solid on the bike and absolutley no sleep at all (why is it i cant sleep in a tent Confused )
We left Malvern at 11 o clock friday morning, took a steady run up to Anglesey (following Gaz in the car with his bike on the trailer) and arrived at about 4 o clock.
It pissed down with rain all the way up, i was soaked through and we had a fair few stops to sort ourselves out.

As we crossed the bridge onto Anglesey the sun came out and it warmed up, amazingly the weather stayed warm, dry and sunny all weekend.
At the circuit we put up the tents -

Started our pitifully tiny barbeque Laughing

And then walked the track

Just off the track we found the sea, its literally about 50 yards from the back straight

The next day was when the real fun began! We went out for our first session, and i was amazed at how grippy and smooth the surface was, its nothing like the road at all. I gradually got quicker throughout the day, but i really really need to work on my body position on the bike, and hated the few lefthanders there were.

I was a bit concerned about running a bt021 tyre on the rear, while it never really played up much it did lool a bit worse for wear afterwards so i think some suspension adjustment is needed.

In between our sessions we watched from the trackside

https://i349.photobucket.com/albums/q399/beatnck2/nicksstag135.jpg

All in all it was a brill day and i cant wait to do it again Thumbs Up
Yesterday we decided to come home via harlech, barmouth and then across to welshpool, craven arms, leominster then home.
It was a long day but on my god the scenery, roads and weather was just perfect Drooling
The lake at the Ryhdadu national park -

Then harlech beach for lunch -

I had an awesome time, by the afternoon session on track i was exhausted which did hamper me a lot, but ive learned a fair bit, and im doing another track day as soon as possible! Thumbs Up

I did finally get there on Saturday - and I spotted a Triumph S4, which I now assume was you!

I can't believe though, that when I took my camera out of my bag, it was already turned on leaving the battery completely flat. No pictures from me I'm afraid Embarassed

I did try to capture some video with my mobile, but its pretty poor quality - although I'll attach a frame for evidence!!!!

Oh no! Bad luck mate Sad
My bike was the only Speed 4 there, in fact i dont think there were many road bikes at all.
I remember looking at all the other guys in the novice section and thinking that they didint really look like novices at all......
The instructor i went out with said that normally the novice group is a fair bit slower than it was on saturday, might explain why i was getting full on trackbikes absolutley blasting past me, which was a bit unnerving to begin with.

Looks fun

I'd probably be up for coming along with you guys, another time, when I'm 100% sure of my bike, and when its a more local track.

How much time do you spend on the track ?

Is it that you are out for 20mins, and then come back in for 40 mins or so, and then go out again ?

How many times do you go out ?

Is it easy to get petrol on site ?

Did the trackbike guys in novice group get moved up into intermediates after the first few outings ?

Each session was 20 mins long, the tracktime started at 10 o clock with the fast group, then at 10:20 the inters went out and then the novice group at 10:40. Then it just keeps going like that all day, with an hours lunch break.
We had 7 sessions, which doesent sound much but after 20 mins on track it was nice to get a breather, then before you know it you are being called to go out again Thumbs Up
There was no petrol on site, so we filled the bikes on the way and filled a jerry can each, but we had more than enough fuel, i did about 80 miles on track overall.
No one got moved, the day was sold out, and i spoke to a few people who had to book into the intermediate and even the slow group as they couldnt get into the fast one.
At times it was a bit hairy with a few close overtakes, but i only had one idiot who carved me up mid bend. I was looking for him in the paddock after to tell him it pissed me off, but i could find him Laughing

Sounds like you had a great time! I'd love to ride Anglesey circuit with it only being about 30 mins from my front door but I can't skrimp enough money for proper leathers and boots at the moment Sad I would of come along to watch aswell but I was photographing a wedding that weekend.

Argh, no way! You need a Canon that automatically shuts down after 30 seconds of inactivity... Razz What a bummer though Sad
