Hi, My friend is wishing to purchase a 50cc scooter to get him to college and back everyday and then used socially on a weekends.
He is not very fussy over it looking the coolest, or being the fastest, as long as it is very reliable and in good condition.
The tick box he has given me is as follows:

Scooter 49cc
Not older thann 55 reg (unless a Piaggio Vespa)
Doesnt have to look cool, but has to be very reliable, in good conidtion and no older than 55 reg.
He is not fussed on the make of the scooter as long as its not one of these cheap chinese things.
Any style; Sports (Speedfight, Runner, NRG), retro (Vespa)
or basic such as Peugeot V-clic or Piaggio Zip.
Either 2 stroke or 4 stroke

The most important thing here is the budget....My friend has up to £800 to spend, But the cheaper the bike for the money, the more desirable!!

Can any of you out there suggest a make/model of scooter or even know one for sale that would fill my friends criteria or near as damn fill it??
Look forward to hearing from my fellow members Thumbs Up
Thanks in advance.

Aprilia SR50

Can pick up some fairly decent ones at low prices.

Not surprisingly, I'd suggest the Vespa... Not only because I've had one for several years, but also as they're probably more likely to have been ridden with more care than a sporty scooter. Also, the storage is great: there's a huge storage cavity under the seat and there's also a 'handbag' hook in the footwell, so the school bag can be carried more conveniently.

They also live forever and are very easy to maintain and fix, as they're very simple.

Additionally, if you want/need, you can add a top box and/or windscreen without making the bike look silly. Cool

They're all exactly the same other than price and styling. and styling not being an issue all he has to do is pick one in good nick.

Not really... I know it sounds stupid as its a moped but they all handle differently as well. On my Suzuki its nice a light and easy to corner.. but on my mates Speed fight all the suspension is stiff and it feels really heavy around corners.
