This sparked off in my head because I just bought a £550 GS500. And mused that it wasn't the cheapest bike I've bought, in face it was the 3rd most expensive.

So far I've had and paid:

MZ125 - £200
XJ600 - £425
TZR250 - £350
MZ251 - £212.47
Bandit 600 - £800
GSXR 600 SRAD - £1500
KLR250 - £875
GS500 - £550

That's an average of £614.

I sold the MZ for £250, the XJ for £380, the TZR for £400, the MZ for £450, the Bandit for £800, the gixxer for £1400, the KLR for £860.

So overall I'm up by £177 on bikes I've sold.

ZXR 750 bought for £1200 and sold for £460
FZR 600 bought for £600 and sold for £175
Monkey bike bought for £595
ZX7R bought for £1600

So the average price paid for a bike is a tad under a grand £998 (and an average of 551cc so far)

ER5 bought £600. Apparently the numberplate is worth £400.

Spent a fair bit fixing it up for no apparent reason. Expensive hobby this biking lark is turning out to be. Shocked
