The police, what exactly are they paid to do?

This afternoon 3 of have had our lockers broken into at work. All of our wallets/phones/keys have been stolen. CCTV shows 2 people entering and leaving the locker room.
On my locker is a dirty great handprint from whoever broke into it and another chaps card has been (according to his bank ) used in comet a mile away from work.

The police have been called but the response was............... "sorry we cant get anyone out untill tomorow afternoon at the earliest"

So we have, finger/handprints CCTV images, im guessing CCTV and witnesses in comet and the police cannot be arsed.

My numberplates have been cloned but the police dont care because as of yet " no crime has been commited"

On the way home from work I passed 3 mobile speed traps. Thats where they all fucking are, making easy fucking money from people going 3mph over the speed limit.
That report that came out this week saying that crime is down and more criminals have been caught must be entirely made up of speeding tickets.
Slightly over the speed limit you are officially a criminal, but they cant be arsed to come sort something out when real crime is involved.
What an utter bunch of corrupt cunts.

They're not all that bad all the time, when i was involved in an accident on my bike i had to leave it locked up at the side of the road (big A road) in some bushes the police called round early the next day to let me know it was there, just incase it had been stolen.

Bareing in mind it can only of been there for 6 hours or so by that point and it was too dark to see the bike 'till about 2 hours before they came knocking so really they acted pretty quickly on that one.

Does sound a bit silly that they wont come strait out after a theft though.

I agree that the crime and punishment in this country is ridiculous.

I watched a program with that macintyre dude called CCTV cities or something. Some of the things that people were being arrested for were horrendous but nowhere near as shocking as some of the 'punishments'

As I turned of then was some kind of ethnic 'youfs' having an argument in the street. One guy pulled out a kinife and went for someone, only missing because someone pulled him back. He then made attempts at everyone around him, started throwing bottles and then pulled ANOTHER knife and chased someone down the street. Bear in mind this is all on CCTV, the police then turn up. Recover the knives and haul him away to face 'justice'. 'Justice' comprising of a 12 month suspended sentence and a paltry fine.

So it went on, people caught red handed in an alleyway snorting coke. One of them even legged it when confronted and the ended up catching him round the corner. 'Released without charge'.

The best one however was a pisshead who knicked a van delivering newspapers. He was absolutely legless but managed to nick the van and speed away. They caught him from DNA on the can he left behind, hurrar for the police. 'Community service punishment and a £500 fine'.

Funniest and probably least believable was the bloke who pulled up outside a club, threw a load of ptrol over the door and ended up setting the club, himself and the bike on fire. He then managed to put himself out, put his bike out and push it away from the scene all on camera 'never found'

Unbelievable, you can take drugs in the streets and wriggle out of it, do 35 in a 30 and you are definately bummed.

Yep same thing happened to my parents when they called them. Took them 9 hours to arrive at the scene. Our police station is closed most the time now. There isnt even a police car in sight here! Your simply told to call back when its open now. CCTV serves no purpose as there are more and more chavs taking the streets over and no cops around.

The locker thefts wasnt an urgent one, I think as long as they do turn up to collect evidence, it doesnt matter if they do it next day.

The reality is, its much easier to keep people who are basically law abiding from doing things they shouldnt (speeding), than it is to prosecute people who are deliberately commiting nuisance crimes, theft violence etc.

They have to prioritise.

My mate got pulled on another mates bike, gave in a diff name, got caught and was given a 12 month suspended sentence, 300 hours community service (max available) and a £1500 fine to be paid within 28 days.

Yes hes a tool for doing it, but how the fuck is that worse than threatening to stab people and running round with a knife?

Anyway how come my bingo winged neighbour can have the cops in her house in 5 minutes when a kid calls he kid a name? she done that last week and I watched the whole thing and knew what she was at, you cant even look at her kid without police at your door! . She also called them on me that time she was kicking a football against my windows! She had them in there on them both occassions for an hour Priorities wrong here!

Well good news and bad news. Mine and one of the other wallets that got stolen turned up in a skip. Mine was missing my Debit card cash and driving license.
Im so pleased to have it back i have had it 12 years.

And as of yet, the police still hav'nt come.
