Got pissed with my mates.

"twiddled" for some reason the bar through my lip, lost the 'twiddly screw on bit' on the floor, can't find it, too drunk to carry on looking

Is it right that mouth related piercings heal in double quick time?

I've shoved a tyypical ear style sleeper stud in, will that hold it till the morning?

When I take my tongue bar out to clean it, it's beginning to heal within 3-4minutes.

I'd imagine an earring would hold it if it's the same gauge as the piece of jewellery you had originally, but I don't expect it'll be very comfortable.

Get to your local piercer ASAP and get the jewellery replaced....Or you could try and find the missing jewellery.

Good luck! Thumbs Up

Getting pissed whilst you have a healing piercing is not clever, it can cause bleeding and acts of stupidity.

I'm certainly no expert and this advice is a little late for this time, but when I had my tongue pierced I was told the same thing about the healing.

Managed to loosen the top fixing whilst eating on a train and swallowed it Embarassed carried a complete spare bar with me at all times, so was able to sort it all out - wasn't drunk mind!!

Maybe that's the tip for the future - keep a complete spare bar and fixings somewhere like your wallet until you know you're all healed. Far too sensible I know!! Wink

Piercings do heal damn quick. Swimming (in swimming pools) is something to be avoided if you remove a piercing as well - the chemicals in the water help the healing.

I speak from experience of this one. Had to have a piercing redone Embarassed

I pierced the stringy bit of skin under the end of my knob to see what a third ring would look like, I put a ring in for a few days, but removed it. In a few days it was sealed again.

I wasn't pissed either

How long have you had the piercing for ?
Obviously the longer you have had it the longer you can get away with it and still stick something through in the morning.

If it's still healing, I would be cleaning the ear stud exceptionally well before placing it into a relatively new piercing.
Still anything you can put in it to keep it open will assist in getting a new stud in tomorrow. Again though only if cleaned very very well (boil it if need be).

I personally have worn my labret for the best part of 8years without bothering to have a ball on the end.
I just got the shits with em falling off all the time. So now I don't bother. The bar just stays in.

Worse comes to worst if you can get to your piercer soon enough he should be able to repierce if need be with a minimal gauge needle and simply stretch it back open no probs.

Saliva promotes rapid healing, thats why I never have my labrets out for more than a few hours.

Anything in there will keep it open.

Also worth running something through the piercing from the outside in - makes it easier to guide it through when replacing your piercing from the inside out (if that makes sense?)

And buy more than one spare twiddly screw on bit - you dont need to be drunk to lose them. Thumbs Up

Well apart from posting whilst drunk, neve a good idea, I hope McGee doesn't post the chat log................

I have had this for years, but i got all "twiddly" for some reason last night

Tat/pierce shop say "it's fucked, you ripped it" etc, eand were slightly agahst, cos I'd stabbed my mouth a few times, and they will do me for free when it's healed.

So, I'm a twat, but it's not all bad news.

D'oh! Sums this all up really.

i took my lip ring out for 5 hrs at work once....it had closed up by the time i tried to put it back in.

id had my lip pierced for about 6 months....

might re do it one day.....

yeah itll hold with that for a while...will probably try to close around it if its thinner than your lip ring or whatever.... just have to push the new one in and stretch it a little...
