Hey just wanting a fw opinions on what i should do here.

Well yesterday I was a work for 6am to go to Sheffield. With no one else in work at that time i left it in the workshop with the keys in so when the other blokes came they could just start my bike ride it out then bring it back in at 12 when they all left. I thought it was the decent thing to do but obviously not.

On the way to Sheffield (Was working at the new Sound House building if anyone knows where it is) my phone ran out of battery. So i get home plug my phone in turn it on and theres a video message waiting for me, i open it up and there I one of the blokes I work with doing a massive wheelspin with smoke coming out everywhere, (which according to someone else it filled the workshop which is about 20x50x30m) then the cunt pops it in to a wheely and rides off.

So i get hold of this clowns phone number and the rest goes like this:

Me: You cunt, i want a new bak tyre after you fucked and now none of the electrics are working.

Clown: I'll tell you what you drippy little twat. I'll give you a tenner for the whole bag of shit, and if you want to threaten me fucking ring, don't text. And if i do see you on monday and you don't apologise for calling me a cunt, i'll smash you fucking teeth down your neck.

Me: Just buy me a new back tyre and all this will be sorted.

Clown: How about you go fuck yourself, there is fuck all wrong with your back tyre. You just get your chin ready to be knocked round the other side of your head.

Me: Just buy me a new tyre, and why are you threatening me?

Clown: What a wanker. Go fuck yourself, Text me again and i'll chew your face off and piss down the hole.

Me: You really are a upstanding person worthy of respect arent you? What little respect i had for you has new gone.

Clown: Bit late for that gob shite. You don't send me threatening texts and get away scott free. Seems i'm going to have to teach you some manners.

Me: You know what fuck it mate. I can't be arsed with you. But if i get stooped and fined or anything like that your paying it.

At this point I put my phone on the coffee table, and start to play on guitar hero's with my gf and her brother. Only to be phoned by this clown giving me more abuse, saying that he was going to punch me until i stopped breathing, and other random stuff. When i asked him why he did it, he told me to shut the fuck up or he'd make sure i couldn't walk again. So at this point i got a bit wound up and said to him that i was at my gf's house he's knows where it is so he can come and do what ever he wants. Then he starts going on that i should go to him and all this bullshit. Which was the point where i put my phone down left it in my gf's room where it was going off all night.

So what do you think i should do?

Bear in mind that i don't want to loose my job, or get suspended for fighting with this clown. And another factor is that i'm getting my new bike on Thurs so i dont want 3k worth of bike been touched by this arsehole.

Keep all texts he has sent and show them to your gaffer/plod as well.

tell your boss ? could constitute bullying, although the fact you engaged in a series of tit-for-tat abuse could count against you. I don't know where you stand in terms of vandalism etc in the eyes of the law, seeing as you didnt take all reasonable steps to secure the bike (leaving keys in etc.).

i get the impression he's bigger than you and thinks he is a hard man. if that were the case and it were me, i'd follow him home and go at him with a baseball bat, break all his fingers and calmly tell him not to mess with me again, and that if he squeaks to anyone i'll kill him. just dont leave any evidence and have an alibi.

alternatively if you've got the balls, find him in a place away from work and take him down with your fists. even better, do it in front of his mates if there are other people there to diffuse the situation and stop you from getting jumped.

i can tell you from personal experience that theres more than enough satisfaction to be had from knocking out someone who's wronged you like this, especially when hes bigger than you, acts like a thug and you do it in front of all his mates.

do it like that and you'll likely get arrested, but if you have no previous, and you're polite to the cops and you fess up, give them the mitigating evidence you have and explain it really is out of character, you'll go home with nothing more than a caution, just as i did.


whatever you do, dont let it go, deal with it somehow or you'll find it will eat away at you for a long time.

I think you were asking for trouble leaving your keys in, but if you think your boss might care, it might be worth showing your boss the video, and the texts.

The other guy is out of line, and it could be he has pissed the boss off a few times already and the boss would love an excuse to fire him.

I've got no knowledge or experience of successfully pulling off violent revenge, and I doubt most of the keyboard warriors in this thread do either.

Only go down that road, if you are certain that you know what you are doing, I think it could easily backfire.

If you are getting a new bike shortly, Id consider not using it to get to and from work in case the twat decides to play with that too.

Take the evidence to the police and then your boss in that order. You have a case for criminal damage, TDA, no insurance etc.

The company are also liable. It happened on their time, their property and the damage was caused by their employee. You can claim on their insurance.

They will of course fire you but then you have them for unfair dismissal.

Both busapaul and Sickpup are right IMO. If you don't do something, you're gonna be a target for redicule forever. If you go the cops route you might get your result but lose face with the others for being a grass. If you man-up and twat him you'll certainly get sacked, perhaps get a criminal record too but at least you'll be able to look the others at work in the eye and you won't get more grief again.

You've basically fucked it by texting him because he's got more ammo to make you look daft in front of your workmates. How you approach things now will determine how they view you but remember - up to now everyone else probably thinks it's too funny. If you turn the tables against him they will get more entertainment and you'll be the hero but if you fail you're never gonne hear the last of it. At least if you get a slap it only hurts for a while, but once people know you won't have the piss taken you won't have to go through it all again.

Several criminal offences have been committed by a company employee on company property. Despite the prime stupidity of the guy leaving his keys in the bike, he doesn't deserve his kit being molested - and the fact it's been damaged makes it totally inexcusable.

Quite frankly violence should be a very last resort. It won't fix your bike, it won't get you compensation, and it has the potential to backfire on you.

Go the legit route, you have evidence and the company (and the tosser) have no leg to stand on.

Just an obs about the texts - you started off by telling him what he was then backed up and backed up until he was telling you what was what. Hindsight's a wonderful thing I know, but a more measured approach may have avoided this.

Police will probably tell you politely to leave, or at best they'll send a playplod round to your work for a mediation session with the both of you. And if this gibbon has been there longer and impressed the boss more than you have, you're gonna look a spoon in front of the boss too.

If I were in your spot, I'd go have a word in front of everyone, say sorry for calling him names *first* and say that you think he's taking the piss - about the bike, don't mention the threats. If he kicks off in front of everyone, THEN go to the boss.

The sensible option is police then boss. If this guy is a 'bad boy' like he's sounding off then the chances are that regardless of the outcome he's going to want to settle the score himself, so be weary of a comeback.

The not so sensible option is to bally up and doorstep him by knuckle dusting his face until your punching mainly mush and concrete and tell him that if he ever fucks again you will bury him in the woods or something along those lines. Personally whilst I was there I would acquire the money to pay for the damage as well.

It doesnt sound a nice situation to be in really, but its happened so you have to suck it up and bit the bullet. Id be interested to know how this pans out, bit of a no brainer leaving keys in the bike though, although I guess you dont expect your workmates to be fucking with your shit either I guess.......
